PlumeriaPal’s Storyboard

moodboard_plumeriapal.jpg

Hi Weddingbee-

I’d love to share our mood board with your readers. Making this really helped me see the big picture and I encourage everyone to give it a shot!

Center photo - This is Wailea, Maui, where our pseudo destination wedding will take place. Even though we live on the island, about 90% of our guests will be traveling to us. I love this picture because it shows how we arrived at our aqua and mint green color scheme.

Top left - Our overall theme is “tropical zen”. I love how natural this white dendrobium orchid, green cymbidium orchid, and ti leaf bouquet is. This photo is from one of my favorite wedding books, “Jo Gartin’s Weddings“.

Top center - Our invitations. We made 5×7 landscape pocketfolds using shimmery Stardream paper and plumeria and palm frond graphics.

Top right - Again, I love the simple and natural look of this arrangement. Our reception will have aqua linens and centerpieces of green cymbidium orchids and creamy vendella roses. This photo is taken from the beautiful wedding of Knottie bentpinkies.

Center left - We’re having a simple bamboo arch with white material and an orchid aisle for our ceremony. I believe this photo is from Knottie mauidjenn, another great bio.

Center right - To bring in a beach element, we’re doing starfish place cards.

Bottom left - Mmmmmm, cake! We’re leaning towards a white cake with lilikoi (passionfruit) filling. I’d like to display the cake on tropical foliage, just like this photo, and with all green cymbidiums.

Bottom center - Our bridesmaid dresses are aqua silk dupioni with a turquoise mid panel (like a built in sash but without the bow). They will carry bouquets of green cymbidiums. This photo came from Knottie savygirl.

Bottom right - I made petal cones for our petal toss with Stardream paper in Starburst and mint green satin ribbon. I used Knottie aylee’s template (check out her bio for more wonderful diy ideas!) We’re filling the cones with green and white dendrobium orchid heads and fuschia plumerias.

Hi Sally-

The palm tree in our monogram came from Microsoft’s clipart site. Search for “clip art” on microsoft.com to get to it. To stand the starfish up, we filled our baskets with sand.
