Storyboards!

OK, I give in! I’ll do a storyboard! Our entire wedding was designed around the ring. My FI gave me his grandmother’s ring which she wore since the 1940’s. I plan to have antique jewelry in my hair and a ‘bar pin’ for my dress. We are taking a spin on tradition, but the simplicity of blue and white with pale pink flowers is just stunning to me. The men will be in tuxedos with all ivory, shirts, ties, vests. Most of our invitations/programs will be with old typewriter fonts and we will be placing china dessert plates on each table with assorted sugar wafers. There is so much more I couldn’t fit it all! Great idea with the mood boards. What fun!

Hi Weddingbee!

I JUST got back from buying my wedding dress, and still high on that excitement, I put together a storyboard for my wedding with some of my inspirations and color choices.  I’m so gald I did — I love seeing it all together!

Cheers,

I am obsessed with the color purple, which instantly became a starting point for our wedding inspirations. Adding a dark sage green to the mix and we were rockin’! Planning a wedding on a budget means looking for the best possible deals, since our venue comes equipped with surround sound, we thought we could pull off an iPod wedding. The only requirement for my dress was that it had a splash of color, as parents, my fiancé and I didn’t feel right with me wearing all white. We love simplicity for décor and classic looks for the wedding party. The bouquet in the lower left made floral decisions easier, since it was perfect (I just want it to cascade!). I had a lot of fun with this project. It sure helps to bring everything together!
Thanks!

Hello there WeddingBee…

We built the wedding around the peacock feather…aqua’s and browns which you can see.

It goes with the peacock feather for a period feel followed by my dress and the cake. The fans are what my lovely ladies will be carrying keeping with the aqua/brown theme. Our invitations will follow the same theme and I combined callas and roses together. Everything will have a peacock feather in it. The maid/matron of honor will be wearing the latte and the bridesmaids will wear the pool. One of our centerpieces will feature the sunken flower - either a rose or a calla. By my dress is our chapel and below the ballroom.

Kim - I’m from Houston :) I wish I was getting married there, but we figured it would be too difficult to plan a wedding in Houston since we now live in DFW. I still miss it so much!

Kim, I love your fans too! Where did you buy them?

I love the vintage and feather looks. We’re doing feathers also, but ostrich plumes rather than peacock feathers. Beautiful, ladies!

I go to ren Faires a great deal and have bought all my fans from the one here in Houston. I just love how it they look.
I don;t like that flowers die and this way my ladies can keep on using their fans and always have it to remember the wedding. I first got the idea at Z Gallerie..they have peacock feahter placemats and after folding them in half I reliazed that would be prefect. So I search the Internet of course and found this wonderful lady and her site and after loking through it…I knew it was prefect. You can buy her fans already made or do custom. I went custom…and sent her some swatches and after the Kansas City faire she was doing she came back and made my 11 fans..and sent me that picture. I loved it and very soon after had them in my hands.

She wonderful and friendly and very quick one the updates and follow ups..

Her name is Lady Susan and heres the site

At this moment they are unpacked and hanging in a closet so they dont get all mushed..

Could anyone tell me how to put together a storyboard? I wanted to submit one as well. So far, I have only managed to put together a mood board on powerpoint slides.

Thanks

Wow — so thrilled to see my storyboard up there with all the other great ones. And thank goodness I’m concentrating on purple and yellow as my accent colors, since my sister may be stealing my idea of brown for her bridesmaids’ dresses, at her wedding six months before mine! (Yes, she got engaged after me.)

Even if she takes my brown, I’m still sticking with the rest — it has a great feeling of classic, fun colors, and a little bit of whimsy, what with the polka dots (on our invitation and our china) and swing dancing.

And I love my dress — not pictured, but definitely inspired by the other dresses pictures, while my wedding day style will be as near a total ripoff of Audrey as I can manage it!

heehee…me too! ktbuffy, I love the purple shoes!!

PC: I just did mine in Paint. I saved all the pics and pasted them on another file. There are much better ways to do this, but that was the only resource I had that day!

I absolutely love the colors of ktbuffy’s storyboard. I like how the yellow just pops against the darker purple.
