Beehive

June 18th, 2007 @ 3:34 pm by Beehive

In today’s hive:

  1. Erin’s ceremony and reception for 100 guests will be held at the same venue, and she’d like help figuring out a basic ceremony schedule (and if possible, suggestions for readings, songs, etc.).
  2. j w is looking for a generic checklist for her day-of coordinator; what specific tasks should be part of their responsibility?
  3. Tricia has two wedding dresses, neither of which she likes.  She’s hoping to find a lace overlay or jacket to help allay her insecurities, but she can’t find one anywhere.  Can anyone help?

Erin: Your question is so broad; every culture/religion has its own way. Your officiant should be providing an overview?

Erin: I agree with Iris. Our officiant had an order for us.

I am desperately searching for simple plain die-cut birds… Before I needed them they were a dime a dozen at every scrap book store I’ve ever been dragged in to, and now I can not find them ANYWHERE. I was hoping to get them on-line. I need about 125 and I don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for them. does anyone know of an online scrap book store or teacher supply store that might have such a thing. Just a simple silhouette of a bird, preferrably on blue paper… (I’m in San Diego if there is an actual store I should visit)

K, my mom is a teacher, and she send me birds that she die-cut at her school and at a local teachers resource library. I would befriend your local school and see if they have a die-cut machine you can use (maybe for a little donation?). You could also call your local scrapbook club and see if they have any connections with die-cut machines.

Hi! I have a few questions I was hoping the “bees” might help me with. First, I am from the Los Angeles area and I am looking for a choir for our ceremony and an approximation if anyone knows how much they cost? secondly, i am looking for an approximation of what lighting should cost? my venue already has pin spots for all the tables, lighitng for the dance floor, etc. In addition, my florist is bringing 15 or so uplights? How much more do I need? my planner put me in contact with someone who was requesting 3K??? Is this too much? any help would be so welcomed. Thanks. SJ

I would also love to see what weddingbee readers about j_w’s question regarding the wedding coordinator checklist. What needs have brides anticipated/encountered in the vein of wedding coordination? Thanks!!

Help ~ I am struggling with what to have my Bridesmaids wear on their feets! I’d like some advice from other readers and Bees on what brand and where they purchased theirs (i.e., on-line or at a bridal salon?). Most of the bridal salons here in Charlotte, NC just don’t carry what I am interested in and I’m looking for a low (1-1/2″ heel) - preferably a mule; no ankle straps or closed toes. Any advice would be great!

Samantha

I have a question for the Bees-
I’m getting married in one town in one state and having the reception in another town in another state (we live on the border of 2 states). So… when I put a location on the STD (which we have to due to over sea guests) do we put the church location or the reception location? If it were the same state I’d just put that but it’s not even the same state! Any thoughts? :)

Question! And forgive me if this has already been asked. We want to give our groomsmen, ushers and male reader (11 people total) personalized steak brands with their initials. Has anyone ever done these before? I’m looking for recommendations on companies and/or companies to stay away from. Thanks!

Tricia- I had the same problem. I bought a silk jacket from Ann Taylor’s celebrations line and I love it. It’s light, airy, and looks good with my dress. It was about $70 which is a great price considoring I saw simalar ones in my bridal boutique for over $200 and I bought it in one of my wedding colors to add punch and make it re-wearable. Check it out!

Is there a fellow Bee out there who would be interested in buying a brand new, boxed, Stacey Lapidus “Silk and Crystal Braided Headband in Creme Color”? I’m getting married this Sept. 28th and I bought it to go with my wedding dress but it doesn’t match and I’m so disappointed. It’s incredibly beautiful!! Let me know if you’re interested!
Thanks!! Teresa
