In My Dreams

June 18th, 2007 @ 2:03 pm by Mrs. Corn

Hmmmmm….last night I had my first all-out wedding dream. I have dreamt about weird moments of what could be a wedding before, like the time I dreamt my bridesmaids were mulling about like cattle and no one had reminded me to pick up a veil. But last night I actually dreamt logistics. And I remember thinking as I was dreaming about all the logistics I need to start organizing how great it would be if I only had a pen…and you know, the ability to write things in my dreams and have them appear next to my bed when waking up.

How about you, have any of you had wedding infused sleep patterns? Are they getting more realistic as the date gets closer?

Yes, I really wasn’t sleeping well for a bit there. But once I started really crossing things off the list, it got better. Most of the times, when I dream, it’s because I haven’t figured out how I want to do something yet and my mind keeps going all through the night!

Yes, but I have wedding nightmares! Each time, there is something going wrong (or lots of things!). At least I know it isn’t really about getting married - in every single one I end up relying on my FI to make me feel better on whatever it going wrong - or convincing him we should just elope because the wedding is so screwed up!

I honestly am not concerned consciously. That’s the weird part. I know something will go wrong and am OK with that - as long as we end up married and the guests have fun!

ugh… i dreamed that it was the day of the wedding and we completely forgot to hire an officiant. i am just taking it as a challenge, like if this actually happens, i now have a game plan… have someone “marry” us that day and get officially married at city hall later ;)

also had a dream about wedding shoes, which i have yet to pick out…

Yes, crazy silly stuff, mostly worries about how much there is to do.

However, dreams that imply something troublesome about the relationship fall under another category — something serious to consider.

I had 2 dreams about flower disasters in the same night! One was that my flowers (which are supposed to be bright gerber daises) ended up being Fake, pastel roses with tacky glitter. The second one was that I was half way down the isle when I realized I’d forgotten my bouquet at the back of the church (btw, I’m getting married outside). When I turned around to get them my day of coordinator just shrugged her shoulders and mouthed “Too Late!” to me. CRAZY!!!! I’m not really worried about the flower issue once I’m awake so I supposed that is a good sign.

Um, I’m 10 months out and I just had my first wedding nightmare. General malaise and unpreparedness and the realization of oh my god, it’s next week.

Can’t wait til I actually get close. That should be delightful…
