About Mrs. Corn

My dress fitting was this past weekend. My mom came up and we headed to Manhattan Bridals in Dedham, MA to go try it on. I am so pleased to say I love, love, LOVE, love, LOVE it!!! As you may recall I had some reservations since I hadn’t seen the dress in so long. I can assure you any reservations I had were blown away the first time I saw it hanging there. These pictures do not do the color of the dress justice.

The back with the train bustled

You can see how great the necklace is in this shot, too

For any bride who is having second thoughts about their dress, I encourage you to hold on…remember what made you like it and decide to buy it and trust your instincts! :)

It’s very true–shortly before my gown was delivered, I had major second thoughts. I wasn’t sure that my satin gown was proper for an afternoon wedding, maybe I should have gotten the lace one, maybe it wouldn’t fit…but once I put it on, I fell in love with it all over again. I felt beautiful on my wedding day, everyone loved the gown, and I couldn’t imagine wearing anything else once I was completely dressed. In the end, I was happy with everything I chose. The only thing I was sad about was that my wedding shoes were so comfortable I never had to put on my bridal Chuck Taylors! (They’re pale yellow low-tops that matched my color scheme.)

I felt the same way when I went to try on my dress for the first time about two weeks ago. My dress was ordered late December and came in mid-May and in between that time and after I kept doubting myself saying I made a mistake.

Needless to say, when I went in to visit my dress, those thoughts vanished. I remembered why I loved the dress.

BTW, your dress is absolutely gorgeous and it looks great with the veil.

I think your veil is beautiful! It’s going to look great with your hair half up.

P.S. Reminder to snip off those hanging loops before the wedding, lest they make an appearance!
