Teach/Coach @ private schools in LA Engagement Date: March 31, 2006 Wedding Date: November 3, 2007 Venue: Radisson Hotel About Me: I'm a bookkeeper who failed high school algebra. I'm currently living in Los Angeles, literally a street over from where I grew up with Mr. Kiwi, my honey of three years. We have a jumbo mini-dachshund (seriously, he's huuuuge), and we're planning an autumn themed wedding on a shoestring, paid for by ourselves. The wedding date is my late grandma's birthday, I needed her there somehow, and that seemed like the best way for us. I can't believe I'm a Bee! I couldn't be more proud!

License To Wed - The Movie

June 18th, 2007 @ 6:24 pm by Mrs. Kiwi

I’m a huge fan of (America’s) “The Office”, which makes me a big fan of Jim & Pam, which makes me an even bigger fan of John Krasinski. Amazingly, my love for John Krasinksi, my fear of marriage prep classes, and my adoration for movies combines into a flick releasing July 3.

“License to Wed” centers around Ben Murphy (Krasinksi) and Sadie Jones (Mandy Moore), a couple who has decided to marry, but must first make it through the “foolproof” marriage prep class Sadie’s church hosts for engaged couples. Reverend Frank (Robin Williams) puts them through assignments and classes- all of which are deemed necessary, because Frank won’t marry them without the class!

This movie kind of hits me where it had previously hurt, having to take a class in order to be married a certain way. After my day in class the fears were gone since the prep class wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought, but had it been like it seems in “License to Wed”, I may have just chosen to elope.

From what I can see, the movie is full of familiar faces and slapstick comedy. As with most of Robin Williams’ comedies, expect many voices (somehow all sounding the same) and pratfalls. Since I love John Krasinski, and my poor wedding-addled brain loves anything wedding-centered, Mr. Kiwi is just going to have to suck it up and come with me to see it.

I LOVE Jim and thus, John Krasinski. I totally want to see this movie, although I have a feeling I won’t be successful in dragging the FI with me since Harry Potter takes priority over License to Wed so I’m dragging him to that already! Then again he also loves The Office and Jim, so, maybe…

I dunno. I loved our marriage prep experience but my fiance and I both rolled our eyes the two times we saw this trailer. I’ll wait to see the reviews but I am not holding my breath. There is hardly any info on it on rottentomatoes.com

Then again I wasn’t into Meet the Parents or the sequel to that either.

Weirdest thing ever. I was reading this post when I got a text from a friend asking if I’d seen this preview. I said no, why? He answered, because the lead guy could be your fiance’s twin!

I dunno about that, but he is pretty cute…

Looks fun. Our pre-cana priest was a hugger, so that’s been a source of many giggles for us.

I was guilt-ed into trying The Office again by John Krasinski’s mom! Seriously!

It was really funny, because I was in a medical study and one of the nurses started chatting to me about what TV shows I watched. And then she asked if I watched the Office, and I told her I had watched the first couple, but I thought the British one was funnier so I stopped watching. And she said her son was Jim (I about died, having just said I didn’t like it!! Foot in mouth, anyone?), and that the show was original scripts now so maybe I should try it again. So me and fi watched it that week and my fi was completely hooked! Downloaded all the episodes from iTunes the next day.

I love Jim and John Krasinski. I’m probably a little too attracted to him for someone who will be a married woman very soon. Oh well, it’s my “freebie”.

Good thing the boy and I equally love Mandy Moore and John Krasinski. Because we’re set to start marriage prep soon, this movie would be an interesting see. If it’s not any good… we’ll just be there as seemingly obsessive fans of “The Office.”

I’m not a big fan of the office so I don’t really know John Krasinski but I love Mandy Moore. I really want to see this but I don’t think my fiance will go with me.
