Everybody Loves Paper

June 22nd, 2007 @ 8:24 am by Mrs. Jelly Beans

One sleepless night in Ottawa, I started my menu cards and table names assembly line. *beep, beep, beep, beep*

I had pre-printed all my menus and table names a few months back. I forwarded them to a professional (my mom) to be cut. Then they were returned back to me to sit and collect dust.  Everybody Loves Paper : wedding diy menus ottawa Silly014 silly014

I used the same main design from our invitations to create the menu header. Using Adobe Photoshop, I created the menu layout. I printed the menus onto Blush Luxe Paper from Papersource. I used a dark brown color for the text and a “vintage” pink for the design elements. Then I mounted them onto dark brown cardstock. For the piece de resistance, I placed (2) 16ss crystals in the center.

Ingredients:

Blush Luxe Paper
Bitterchocolate Cardstock
16ss clear Swarovski Crystals
9ss clear Swarovski Crystals
Liquid Glue Pen
Dotto Removable Glue Dots
Fonts: Bickham Script Fancy & Garamond
HP Ink Jet Printer

For the table names, I wanted to incorporate all the places we visited in Paris. Since we were only there for a week and I had so many tables, I Googled the rest! :) But don’t tell anyone.

I pretty much used the same format and materials, but in a horizontal format. I am placing 9ss Crystals on all 4 corners. They look like tiny screws, only prettier.

Hope you all enjoy the fruits of my hard labor! :)

Miss Jelly Beans,
Those menus are lovely. I was just thinking about my menu cards. So you made individual ones instead of 1 per table?

Gorgeous, Miss JB! Quick question - where did you find that ornamental framing thingie for your names at the top? I’ve been looking for a graphic like that!

Thanks ladies!!!! :) Although I think if you look close enough you will see all my little

Miss Snow Pea- yes, Im putting a menu card for each place setting in a pocket fold. Very time consuming but well worth it in my book :)

KP & Mary- I used Bickham Script Fancy for and Beautiful ES. Some of the letters when using BSF are too hard too read or have too much spacing in between, so for those certain letters I used Beautiful ES. Which, I think flows quite well.

Miss Pearl- I found the images on istockphoto.com. It is a great site. You can purchase soooo many images. It took me hours to search through so many pages. I guarantee you will find more than one. :) Mine was one single image that I split in half using Photoshop. I think mine cost me $3. They give you the files to download in different formats. I found Illustrator very easy to use with these vector images.

Christina- I have been using my trusty HP inkjet printer. :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend! :)

I love the script! It’s gorgeous. Wish I had handwriting like that. :-)

kp: I use istock also and I use “floral” or “scroll” (or both) to find some really neat images.
