Makeup Trial #2

June 22nd, 2007 @ 4:58 pm by Mrs. Corn

Makeup Trial #1

I was only able to set up another make up trial with one other person since everyone else was booked or wouldn’t travel to the location. A few weeks after setting up my first make up trial with Mary Dee Housley, I finally heard back from one of the salons that I had emailed at the same time!! (Apparently, my email had gotten lost in their system) They had availability, were in my price range, and I could set up a trial with them for the day after Mary’s (which was good, because my mom was in town). Since I was also still looking for someone to do my hair, I booked a hair and makeup trial with them at the same time.

My mom and I headed down to Wedding Tresses in Plympton, MA and met with Jennifer for my trial. Upon arriving I found out that I had misunderstood the email from the owner and I was only scheduled for a make-up trial. That was disappointing and a little frustrating, but we went ahead with the make-up trial.

I told Jennifer that I was hoping to make my eyes look bigger and brighter and that I wanted to try a nude lip. I pointed to a picture of a bride on a marketing piece for hair falls that was nearby and showed her what I meant.

Here are the pictures from the second trial:

Considering they lost your e-mail and there was so much confusion I think the second place is not the way to go - but for a better reason - I liked the first makeup trial better! What is your feeling on the two?

i liked the first trial more as well. while i think this woman did a good job with making your eyes pop, she used a heavy hand with your eyebrows which, I think distracts from the eyes. since you have a rosy complexion to begin with, i also think she put a bit too much blush. i do however, love the nudey lip tone - maybe just dab a bit of gloss? which do you like better?

#2 - too much blush.
#1 - nice overall; noticed your face, not your makeupl.

sorry, but i like the second trial. you just look a lot more like a bride. the first one i felt like you were just going to work or something — normal day. there was nothing special about the first trial at all.

personally, i like the blush on you. your pale skin could use some flushing (mine needs it, too, trust me). but blush can always be muted once put on. and just tell them you thought it was a tad too much blush, if you felt that way. but i say go for the second if you want to look like you’re getting married, not going into work like every other day.

i like the second trial. your eyes look much bigger and the blush better defines your cheekbones.

I definitely like the first trial better. Your face looks brighter and more natural. The second one seems a bit heavy handed and makes you look older.

I actually liked the second one more. When I first saw the first trial, I didn’t like it so much. I think the dark color of your lips doesn’t really go well with the lack of color on the rest of your face. (Not saying your face, just the makeup. You’re adorable!) The second trial gives your face more color and a brighter, more alive look (maybe it’s the eyes?). However, this is just what I think, and you should do whatever makes you feel comfortable. You’ll be the one sporting it, after all!

i think because you were smiling more in the 1st trial’s pictures, i initially liked the 1st one more. but the 2nd one looks fabulous too!! you look beautiful in both so i don’t see how you can go wrong with either artist. =D

I, too, liked the first one, however if you go with either you will still look fab. :-)

Personally, I think they’re both great trials for make-up, but I think the first does look like you’re going to work or something, as someone else said. Again, however, both lovely.
