DIY Guest Book - CHECK

June 26th, 2007 @ 4:18 pm by Mrs. Raspberry

As I posted about earlier, after a good amount of research (ok, I just asked my married friends) I learned that the guest book is not usually seeked out and if it is, people just sign their name. Therefore, I didn’t want to spend too much time or energy on it, so I decided to just whip it up with a kit from Paper-Source.

Here are a few pics from the process and the final result.  Using the kit, it was quite easy.

You start by cutting out your cover paper to 2 inches bigger than the cover board and gluing that on…

Then cut the book tape to be 2 inches longer than the cover board and attach the hinge board to the cover board with it…

Make an inside cover that is 1/4 inch smaller than the book board on all sides and glue that onto the back of the book board.  Then you simply put together all the pages with the binding screws.

Here is a pic of the final product!

WAH LAH!

It took about an hour to make and that was with me cutting everything and making the pretty piece with our names for the cover.

Stay tuned as the DIY projects are in full-swing this week!

hey girlfriend -
just wondering, what kind of glue did you use? i’ve recently kicked my wedding DIY projects and planning process into high gear and this is a wonderful idea that you have for a guest book. I’m making one of my own!

i know this blog was from 2 years ago, but is there anyone out there who can give me some basics on how to do this for my fall wedding? I want to use one book as both scrapbook and guestbook. I want to be able to use my own paper and insert pages with photos of us during the wedding and with guests. So if anyone knowns where I can get this kit or anyone who can write me down the insturctions, I would appreciate it and surely barter something you need help with for you wedding. thanks email: yellow2008@live.com
