Flowers

June 26th, 2007 @ 12:28 pm by Mrs. Corn

The grape Hyacinth is the favorite spring flower of my garden - but no! I thought a minute ago the Scilla was! and what place has the Violet? the Flower de Luce? I cannot decide, but this I know - it is some blue flower. - Alice Morse Earle

Actually, I can decide. It is the luscious, blue hydrangea.

As long as I can remember I have wanted to carry blue hydrangeas as my bouquet for the wedding and have my attendants carry smaller bouquets in white. Here are some examples of flowers that I have hoarded over the years. I have had them so long, I have no idea who to credit, so please accept my apologies if these are yours.

just be careful with hydrangeas out in the sun. i would not suggest them at all if it’s an outdoor affair. in my experience, they wilt very very fast outdoors. they drink water from their petals, so if you can have someone spritzing them often, that should help a little.

Ooooh, I LOVE hydrangeas! My bouquets will be white roses and white hydrangeas. And I want to plant some for my new yard. Your blue hydrangeas are so pretty!

My bouquet will have white hydrangeas in it as well (and other flowers)! I love the blue ones too though!

I love hydrangeas as well, but would echo aoedorathee - they can wilt and they have a tendency to change colors. So strange. But I hope they work because they are gorgeous!

I’m hoping to have hydrangeas as part of all the bouquets. I

I have a friend who used your exact scheme of blue and white hydrangea bouquets and it looked great! We’re using white and soft green hydrangeas paired with green hypericum berries for our table arrangements.

That’s EXACTLY what I’m doing- blue hydrangeas for my bouquet and white for my girls. (two will be in green dresses and MOH will be in blue dress!)

Love it!

Love it!! My girls will have all white hydrangia, and I have a mix of green and white.

It has been hard to find pics, but seeing yours helped remind me I made a good choice :)
