Just got a link to another friend’s photos and I swear they’re the best yet!! So that means…one more batch of non-pro photos before we go! (Um, unless someone else sends me great pictures before we leave Wednesday…so I cannot swear that this will be the last non-pro batch.
)
Getting dressed just before the ceremony…

Stepping out of the house to start down the aisle…

First kiss as husband and wife!! This is the exact same spot that my parents and grandparents were married! Married for 39 and 58 years respectively.

My bouquet (as held by a bridesmaid) I asked the florist what everything was called but remember almost none of it! Pink peonies, delphiniums, thistle…and several other things with names I don’t know. The silvery stuff is like lamb’s ear but cooler shaped. My something blue was a crystal earring that belonged to my grandmother pinned to the bouquet that you can kind of make out.

A semi-decent shot of my train and veil, and the aisle runners just after the ceremony

The tent, not quite fully set up, a while before the ceremony (don’t worry, we moved the car before anyone got there.) We arranged all the table flowers ourselves in antique vases found around the house, and strung up the lanterns ourselves.

After mingling at the cocktail hour for a bit, we headed down to the lake (Lake Champlain) for pictures, (like the one of me standing in the water in the last batch I posted.) When we got back we walked down the path through the woods to the tent/reception site where everyone was waiting for us. You can’t tell here but there are mini blue lanterns strung all down the path.

Champagne toast! the purse belonged to my grandmother in the ’50s.

Our cake & topper! Seriously, by FAR the best wedding cake I have ever had, and a million people told us that too. Bottom layer was old fashioned chocolate cake (chocolate cake, chocolate icing), middle was chocolate cake with chocolate mousse & raspberry sauce (yeah, we like chocolate!), and the top was yellow cake with strawberries and whipped cream, then the whole thing was covered in about THREE QUARTERS OF AN INCH of chocolate ganache. Damn that stuff was good. Also, the “my favorite flavor was” comments seemed evenly split between the three! Score!!

Cutting the cake…we realized when we got up there we had no idea how you’re supposed to do it, so even though we technically “cut” a piece we couldn’t detach it from the rest of the cake!! Mr. Bluebell finally just dug in there with his hand after we struggled for a minute or two with everyone watching…

You can tell our hands are covered in cake.
After Mr. Bluebell pulled the slice out we realized we didn’t have a fork either so we had to feed each other with our fingers! The stole I’m wearing in these pictures belonged to my other grandmother, and just happened to be the exact same shade of ivory as my dress!

For the first dance, we only danced about 30 seconds before signaling 5 or 6 designated couples to come up and join us, at which point others started dancing as well. We really aren’t dancers so we picked a song you just sway too and figured no one would want to watch that for very long.
It was also great just being up there with everyone else but still just the two of us to “our” song in the middle of it all.

After the first dance, Mr. Bluebell spontaneously picked me up and yelled “THIS IS MY WIFE!!!” to everyone’s great amusement.

There was a bonfire a bit outside of the tent with cutoff logs to sit on, which ended up being perfect since it got pretty chilly as the night went on.

Okay that’s it for now!!
