Table Tents and Escort Cards

June 27th, 2007 @ 11:38 am by Mrs. Corn

Do you think I can find the inspiration page of the escort cards hung by mini-clothespins that I saved for months so I could post it on Weddingbee?

NO!

And do you think I can find the beautiful digital images I took of the process of making my table tents?

NO!

I blame the heat.

Instead, please accept this photo of my mom stamping the envelopes for the escort cards ‘randomly’ with a hydrangea stamp when she was here a few weekends ago.

Originally, I wasn’t planning on doing anything more than just table numbers, but after a night with a bottle of wine, Mr Corn and I decided to use places where we have both dipped our toes in the water.

I love the escort cards - the random stamping really looks pretty.

I have a question though - what’s the difference b/t table tents, escort cards and seating cards?

Thanks so much posting this. I was thinking about table tents with # on side and menu on the other. My question is: is just made of paper and ribbon or did you use something heavier as the base? Some of my table are outdoors, and I was afriad paper would fly away.

Hi Jean - The table tents go on the tables to display what the table name or number is. The Escort cards are displayed at the entrance to the tent (or reception hall) and indicate what table people are assigned to. For ours, we are putting the cards with the table names in a small envelope that will have the name of the couple on it and will hang from a line strung between two poles at the entrance to the tent. The seating cards are placed at each individual place setting and have the name of the person who is sitting at that place. You only need those if you are assigning people seats as well as tables (as opposed to just telling them what table they are at and having them pick a seat). Hope that helps.

Jen - the table tents are made with coverstock and then the cream pieces are regular weight paper. They are actually heavier than expected once you adhere them, but they could still fly away in the wind. You might want to consider putting a small weight, like a rock or a candle (unlit) on top of the ribbon at the base to hold it down.

I love the graphics for your wedding… the lobster, clams, etc. Were those designed for you, are they stamps?

I’m looking for something similar.

Hi Kelly,

There are 4 graphic elements that we have been using throughout the paper materials for the wedding…6 if you count 2 fonts (copperplate and a script).

The shell I found in a free clip art thing online…originally it was just for the invitation outer envelopes, but it seems to have made it’s way onto the escort cards, table tents and newsletter.

The lobster is a stamp I found at AC Moore a few months back. was on the save the date and the response cards for the invitations as well as the stamps for the response cards and the thank you notes.

The hydrangea stamp was also an AC Moore find. I decided I wanted to use it mostly because it was so darn pretty and the only flowers we are having at the wedding are hydrangeas. The stamp has made it’s way onto the wedding thank you cards, the programs and the escort card envelopes.

Our monogram was created for us by Wilshire Graphics Press…and they didn’t really ‘create’ ti…I just selected it from the range of fonts they have.

Hmmm…this actually has inspired me to post about all this.

Thanks :)

Awesome designs! I definitely get the coastal vibe. (And I’m not just saying that because I live in New England!) :-) What site did you use for clip art searching? That’s something that I want to start looking at. I have several fonts narrowed down, and I think finding some clip art accents will help to narrow the rest down, since I’ll have a better sense of what goes with what. Thanks!

Hey meleven…I didn’t start looking for clip art until I knew what I wanted. I actually only ended up searching for the clam shell, and for that I just googled it and then did a picture search. The image that came up just happened to be on a free clip art site :)
