Label

July 2nd, 2007 @ 2:34 pm by Mrs. Lemon

My second DIY workshop location (parents’ home) is in full gear! I took care of all of my labeling responsibilities on Saturday night. First, the Jones soda labels for the rehearsal dinner favors:

Label : wedding diy los angeles S968759 s968759

Label : wedding diy los angeles S96875901 s96875901

Then… the water bottles for my OOT guest bags:

Label : wedding diy los angeles S968760 s968760

Label : wedding diy los angeles S96876001 s96876001

I’ve seen lots of people suggest buying the fancy waterproof labels for their bottles (which come at a substantial cost), which I’d only recommend if you’re going to be storing your bottles in a bucket of water at the reception. Otherwise, you can get the same effect by using normal paper!

I just bought glossy laser paper ($4/ream) at Staples and used two ZOTS to stick the labels to the bottle (Jones and the H20) and used a clear glue stick to seal the ends. Very easy to do (it took about an hour to do on my own while watching TV), and a super cheap way to personalize something!

Great job on the Jones Soda label!! Question on the water labels: Did you have to remove the kirkland labels first and if so, did that take a long time?

Red - It took about 10 minutes to get all of the labels off. They are only connected by a little bit of glue… which is VERY nice for this project!

Those look great! Kudos on your hard work. I love DIY stuff. Why pay so much when you can do it for cheap and at your leisure, while watching some tv? Genius!

Great job MISS Lemon! Soon to be Mrs! I agree they are easy and inexpensive. I didn’t bother using water proof labels either. I also used glue dots.

Red - It’s real quick. What’s nice is that the existing glue also helps keep your label on after the kirkland label is remoed.

Miss Lemon-did you print those labels with pictures from your home printer? The quality looks great if it is from your home printer. What program did you used to format the labels?

Those Jones bottles look so great! I wouldn’t have even thought someone DIY-ed them b/c they look so professional! Did you have to take the original Jones labels off first too? Was this difficult or easy like the Kirkland labels?

Ms. Lemon, you did an excellent job on the bottles! Same as Helen’s comment, could you share what program and template you used to format the labels? Thanks so much.

The Jones labels were pretty easy too… I used a knife to start the cut… but nothing past that!
I printed everything on a home color laserjet (HP) printer…. but it’s really the glossy paper that does the trick!
As for formatting, I used Adobe Illustrator. Hopefully I can share some of the templates I used after the wedding!!!

This is so awesome and such a great touch. I wanted to do themed tabled and I might be able to theme the bottles to each table. This just gave me so many ideas!
