Liana’s Storyboard

July 2nd, 2007 @ 7:00 pm by Reader Email

Our wedding will be held in Big Sur, California, at the Henry Miller Library (which is an outdoor venue).  Since it’s all outdoors, we’re going for a casual, garden-style wedding.

We also decided to forego most of the traditional wedding stuff, so we’re having ping pong, an iPod instead of a DJ, a campfire with s’mores (inspired by ReadyMade magazine), our dogs in the ceremony, cupcakes instead of a cake, hairpins instead of a veil, and lots of color!  My dad will be making apricot jam and elderberry jelly for the favors, and I’m thrifting flowered plates from the 60s and 70s for a little vintage touch, inspired by Lena Corwin.

Great storyboard! Where is the jam jar photo from? I’m making jam for my favors as well, and I love the look of those jars!

Liana, your storyboard looks great! May I ask where you got the pic of the various BM dresses, 2d from the left, last row? Or if you know the designer itself, that’d be even better!

My favorite storyboard yet!!! I really wanted to emulate Lena’s plate idea but I don’t want to stress over clean up. Is your venue going to handle it for you or do have some amazing guests?

The jam jars are from her highness Martha:

The bridesmaid dresses are from brides.com:
From left: Blue chiffon dress, about $240, by Watters & Watters, waters.com. Green chiffon dress, about $325, by Thread, threaddesign.com. Yellow chiffon dress, about $280, by Lazaro, lazarobridal.com.

I haven’t really sorted out how we’re going to take care of the plates after the wedding, but I’m going to try to talk my caterer into helping with it. If that doesn’t work, I have some family members who would be willing to help (thank goodness).

Oops, I forgot to mention that I think we’ll use these jam jars since they are cute without much added decoration (although if I have time I’ll probably add some fabric a la Martha).

Lianaaaaaaa, You went to the Netherlands!!! Yeah!!! Did you enjoy Europe? I just came back from a month myself loving every minute of it again. Found your great pictures while looking for your email address… Looks like you are getting married… Congratulations! Hope you are safe at the moment with all those crazy fires down there. That’s what made me think of you. Know that you are always welcome here, even if it is just to get away to get a break from the smokey air. Much love and all the best! Anja
