My FILs are cool. How cool? So cool that every year they throw a “Good Riddance Snowbirds” party. (It’s an Arizona thing.) So cool that when I emailed them the other day to ask for their invitee list (which is bigger than our own), this is what they wrote:

Hi D.,

These are our invitees. *You* are having a wedding. *We* are having a party!

They so rock.

awesome. my g-parents used to live in chandler, az, and they prided themselves as not being part of the “snowbird” set

Aoedorothee: Because of our beautiful weather during the ‘winter’, we get many visitors from other areas that usually stay during this season. We call them snowbirds because they escape their cold winter by spending it in Arizona instead. Then once it starts getting warmer here, they leave. Hence the term snowbird.
