The Secret Lives of Bachelor Boys... : wedding bachelor party palm springs Bachlor

Mr. Peppermint and his squad of groomsmen just got back from his big ol’ bachelor party. You may be wondering why the party is so early–we’re getting married in five months! Mr. Peppermint’s brother (and Best Man) is in his senior year of college and is taking the first semester abroad in Denmark this fall. That means he won’t arrive back until a few days before the wedding (I’m a little nervous about jet-lag!), so this was the perfect time to get everyone to go.

What the guys planned was a road trip. Mr. Peppermint told that gang that he wanted “camping meets Vegas,” so that’s exactly what they did. The six gents rented themselves an RV and drove out to Lake Mead for the first leg of the trip on Saturday. They spent the night there camping and then on to Vegas for Sunday/Monday. On Monday night the gang headed back.

I’m so excited for them and (though it was challenging) controlled my calls to Mr. Peppermint. Aside from just having a fun trip with his friends, I think it was especially notable for him and his friends because this is the first bachelor party for all of them. From the start Mr. Peppermint was clear that he didn’t want to go to a strip club or go for the typical bachelor-party-fare, but other than that, he left the planning up to his friends… None of them knew what was “expected” so they chose to just have a fun guys trip instead.

Here’s the trip (photos courtesy of Mr. Peppermint & his brother)…

So much fun!

My Mr. isn’t too sure what he’s doing yet, but I’m sure cards are in the cards!

As for me, I’m heading with ten of my bext girlfriends back to my college town. I’ve been in NYC for over a decade, but we’re going back to Oklahoma for a football game and late night pizza. an’t wait!

My fiance could care less about a bachelor party - he said he’d be happy just having a couple beers with his brothers.
Not sure what we’re doing for mine yet, but I don’t want anything too crazy. My MOH was talking about some kind of activity then dinner and a couple drinks. Unfortunately, since I live 6.5 hours away from my bridesmaids and the wedding location, we can’t do it until we come home before the wedding… which will either be the Tues or Wed before the wedding.

my husband (and most of his friends) weren’t into the stripper thing either. most of his groomsmen were from out of town, and his brother, the best man, was coming from guinea, west africa (peace corps), to attend our wedding - so the only time they could have the bachelor party was the day before the wedding. they went out for a manly steak dinner, played at gameworks, and gave him a Nintendo DS as a gift. perfect for my low-key, nerdy husband =).
