I’m married. I’m a WIFE. And Mr.Tomato is my husband (though I’ve decided to call him “hubby” hehe). ![]()
After weeks of worrying about the day-of, I was surprisingly (miraculously?) VERY relaxed during the day. I woke up at 4:30am, blogged on Weddingbee, went back to nap for two hours, and waited for my bridesmaids to arrive. They were 15 minutes late. I didn’t spazz a bit. They apologized profusely. I assured them not to worry.
We arrived for our hair/makeup appointment half an hour early, so we decided to grab a cup of coffee at a nearby bakery. My bridesmaid Janice told the guy behind the counter I was getting married today, to which he said in disbelief, “Today? No way! You are the most relaxed looking bride I’ve ever seen.”
I was so relaxed that when I discovered a long, red ballpoint-pen mark on my dress a few hours later, my reaction was, “Oh well. Whatever. No one will see.”
The day went by quickly, but I’d have to say I was able to enjoy every moment of it. Some brides say the day goes by in a blur and they can’t remember much, but I made sure to relish and grasp the most important day of my life.
I had absolutely no regrets.
My mom ended up not coming to my wedding. And you know what? I was okay with it. I was incredibly happy to be marrying the man I loved so dearly, and that simply overshadowed everything else that day. And I think everyone knew that, because my friends came up to me afterwards and said, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you so happy and content. EVER.”

Now I have to get ready for my SoCal reception tonight, so I’ll update more later (probably after our Prague/Vienna/Budapest honeymoon!).
