What do you picture when you hear the words “dream wedding”? Does the image include Al Roker? Well, for one lucky couple, that’s about to be the case.
For its eighth annual wedding event, NBC’s “Today” Show is collaborating with Mistress Martha to throw the nuptials of a lifetime. She’ll conspire with the editor of MS Weddings and “Today” staffers to help pick all the perfect details. And as in years before, viewers will get to vote for their favorite selections, too. The wedding itself will be featured in an issue MS Weddings, as well as broadcast live on “Today” on October 5th, 2007.
What’s more, this year, “Today” will be traveling to various cities around the country, personally interviewing couples who wish to be considered for the event. Standout couples will appear on the show as finalists, where viewers will vote for who they think should get the prize.

so how does this work? the show/audience picks everything for the couple? so who’s “dream wedding” is this? i’ve always found that to be weird…
gosh, i just read all of the rules to this contest and you’re seriously subject to everyone’s decisions. it’s america’s dream wedding, like american idol, where you vote on your favorites. it isn’t so much your dream wedding at all. not for me personally. but i’m sure someone will win a fabulous honeymoon and love the whole experience!
The thing that has always bugged me the most about these Today Show dream weddings is that you have to get married at, like, 8:30 a.m.! Imagine what time you have to get up to get ready, and can your guests really party before noon????? I wish they did an evening event and just televised if after the fact on the show. I always end up feeling bad for everyone who had to be up at the crack of dawn.
I love this show! yeah its a bummer you have to get married at 8:30 but still what a fun thing to do. Ok and have to admit I wouldnt be able to do it because I have seen when they pick the ugle hair style or unflattering dress, but still it is fun to watch!
I love when they do this series. I like voting for the choices. But the bride in me would never give up control to the viewers. But it’s all paid for, even the honeymoon!

We did for the semi-finals, and we’ve been waiting for a call for the finals, but haven’t heard anything since last week. It’s this Wednesday so we were just wondering if the final four have been contacted.

Today show does not know how to pick couples. If they want unique stories they dont pick them. That show is rigged.
Today show is rigged. They dont like good stories and unique couples.
I must admit after seeing the chosen couples they made a big mistake when they passed up Lauren and Josh, aka deaf love. They’re story is magical and they’re personalities are awesome. What a loss. They would have had a fabulous 30 second spot, unlike the boring ones I saw.

I didnt think the couples were boring…at least not all the couples. Most of the clips made me cringe with embarrassment for them but COUPLE #2- NICOLE AND THOMAS were hotttt! They DEF have my vote.
Actually Cody and Jessica are a great couple and deserve to win. They are two of the sweetest people I have ever met and could use a little help from Martha Stewart. The other couples were cute too, but it seemed that have great careers…so can’t they throw their own “dream wedding”? So vote for Jess and Cody!! Please??
