About Mrs. Jelly Beans

I finally, finally completed my monogram cake topper. I had a really good talk with myself and we both agreed that we needed to sit down and finish this. :)

I purchased the metal letters in our Bickham Script Fancy font from wedding cuts and the equipment and crystals from Tami’s Place. I highly recommend both vendors.

I bought the starter kit which contained:

(1) Cupped tweezers - I really could have done without this tool

(1) Beading tweezers- I used this a lot, especially to get the excess glue off

(1) Polishing cloth

(1) 12 x 9 Bead mat

(1) E-6000 Glue

In reality, all you really need are the beading tweezers and the glue. So if you know where to go get some, I recommend going that route. I, on the other hand, was a DIY virgin at that point in time.

Tami (yes, we are already on a first name basis) offers free shipping which is perfect when you realize you didn’t order enough crystals. Doh!

I love my letters! But a word of caution, make sure that you are specific with your instructions. My first M was the size of a magazine spread. Hmmmm…might be a bit much for a 6 inch tier. It took several tries and many emails before I finally got the right size. Initially they wanted me to pay for shipping and the added costs. But I put my bridal foot down and gently reminded them that it was an error on their part and I have been super patient. Voila! I got my perfect M!!!!

Now on to the unity candle. I found a cheap holder at Carlton Cards for a bargain! Yay for bargains! I bought the candles at Winners, the TJ Maxx of Canada, and used the same lace that we used for the ringbearer pillows and flower girl baskets. Soooo sparkly! Instead of glueing the lace we decided to use pearl pins which added more detail to the lace. I looove how it turned out! The tapered candles are a little off in terms of color. But I am hoping no one will notice but me. *fingers crossed* :)

My tapers are slightly off too! The way I figure it, the people in the first row will be a good 10 feet away, so no one will notice!

For my unity candle and tapers, it was good old Walmart coming through again. For the decorations, I used leftover crystals from my encounter with the lovely Tami (though I just bought the crystals, then got the glue from Walmart and used my own pair of tweezers)

I really like the way that lace looks. Very pretty and an easy way to tie different elements in together :)

I did my topper too and I loved doing. It was so rewarding seeing the end product that I created! I also got my crystals from Tami’s Place and they were great!

Hi Almost Married- I bought initials that they suggested for a 6 inch tier in their website. I would check their website to make sure you get the right size. I bought different sizes of crystals from Tami’s place. I highly recommend getting small and larger ones to fill your topper. Good luck! :)
