Mrs. Kiwi's Picture
Mrs. Kiwi, Los Angeles Age and Occupation in 06: 27, Bookkeeper Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, P.E. Teach/Coach @ private schools in LA Engagement Date: March 31, 2006 Wedding Date: November 3, 2007 Venue: Radisson Hotel About Me: I'm a bookkeeper who failed high school algebra. I'm currently living in Los Angeles, literally a street over from where I grew up with Mr. Kiwi, my honey of three years. We have a jumbo mini-dachshund (seriously, he's huuuuge), and we're planning an autumn themed wedding on a shoestring, paid for by ourselves. The wedding date is my late grandma's birthday, I needed her there somehow, and that seemed like the best way for us. I can't believe I'm a Bee! I couldn't be more proud!
About Mrs. Kiwi

At a party last weekend I realized I like to dance. When I drink a bit. Not so much when I’m stone-cold sober, but definitely when I’ve had a glass or three of champagne. I’m not much of a drinker, so the liquor hits me hard. When that happens, and a song I like comes on (like New Edition’s Candy Girl), I’m a dancing machine. Literally. I like to do the robot. So, I had myself a thought about our own wedding dance. We’ve seen all the choreographed dances on YouTube, the Thriller dance, the Ok Go dance (I love the little guy in the glasses), and the Dirty Dancing wedding (I am so jealous!). I want to do something cool like that! Of course, our wedding party has two people other than us, and are about ten years older than we are, and probably don’t really dance all that much anyway… but: as Bender as my witness, I WILL NOT DO THE ROBOT ALONE!

I think I will have to corral some of Mr. Kiwi’s less inhibited friends and have some kind of dance-off. I realized that despite my pathetic attempts at normal dancing (all of which oddly resembled Carlton on Fresh Prince), I still had fun. Yeaaah, maybe it took me a few swigs of the fizzy stuff, but I danced.

Now I’m definitely looking forward to dancing at our wedding. If the bride can’t look stupid and get away with it, who can?

I love that scene at the end of Hitch, Keny! I say weddings are one of the places you can “act a fool” and get away with it. Hopefully you can convince your fiance to go along with it - once everyone else joins in, I’m sure he’ll feel less shy.
