Let Them Eat Cake…

July 10th, 2007 @ 6:01 pm by Mrs. Jelly Beans

We searched high and low for a cake that we both would love. Guess where we found it?

In a Martha Stewart Weddings magazine of course! :) Is it bad that I am still thinking of buying her wedding magazines post-matrimonial bliss?

So without further ado I present to you the Mr. and Miss Jelly Beans wedding cake:

*drumroll please*

Let Them Eat Cake... : wedding cake ottawa Funky G1.jpg

The bakery will be using ivory fondant and light pink gum paste flowers. They will be spraying the flowers to mimic the exact shade of pink on the third tier of the cake. All 5 tiers will be circular in shape, and I will be placing my DIY sparkly monogram from my previous post on the very top tier.

I found my cake stand online at a really great deal! There were several ones that I saw on ebay, but they were on the pricier side. Would you believe that no one in Ottawa carries these kinds of cake stands? These are the times that I regret not having the wedding in California. I become a victim of “wedding envy” whenever I read posts on weddingbee and other wedsites about the resources that are available to them in their respective locations.

Martha is a cruel temptress…her stuff is so cute, but so expensive! We’re doing a Martha cake also. Your cake is really cute and the flowers are neat.

Miss Jelly Bean.

How did you get Save on Crafts to mail your order to Canada? I have been trying to figure out a way to get affordable circular vases from them.

Hi Monica,

Unfortunately I had it shipped to my fiance who then brought it here… maybe you can email and ask them?

Miss Jelly Bean. You can see the cake on my knot bio. I added brown sugar ribbon to each layer. The photo isn’t a great one, the color looks brighter in the photo than it really was. We haven’t gotten our pro photos yet. Hope this helps!
