Pre-Ceremony Beverages

Miss Lime
and
Mr. Lime

request the pleasure of your company
at their marriage
on Sunnyday, the unshaded day of August
two thousand and seven
at sweat o’clock

An All Outdoor Venue
Hothothot, California

We [me, Mr. Lime, and the wedding party], will be under the cool shade of some enormously tall bamboo. Unforutnately, about four-fifths of our guests will bear the full brunt of Southern California, August sun beating down on their [mostly dark-haired] heads.

To give their sweat glands somewhat of a break, we’re providing parasols. “A tent!” you say? Like, ew, the venue totally doesn’t allow that [no offense to tent wedding brides. I’ve seen amaaaaazing looking ones. But we can’t afford that, now]. We will also be doing the now-famous water/lemonade/iced tea/other iced but non-alcoholic liquid refreshment station for pre-ceremony, to keep everyone hydrated.

These are the best looking beverage dispensers [in my opinion] that I’ve found so far. Too bad the price tag is not as tasty.

You can find these overpriced babies in these two places: Wild Flower Organics and Scarlett Alley.

If you have a resale license, you can buy direct from Roost for MUCH less that advertised above, but they do have minimums.

My caterer is going to leave out nice, basic pitchers included in the per person price for the drinks. You can’t beat “free” (er, already included. It feels free, though!).  Plus they are easier to refill.  Sorry, guests, that you’ll all be baked potatoes, but I won’t.  I promise cocktail hour is in a much cooler [mostly shaded] area, with cool refreshments.

We got our 5 gallon glass from Costco- they are $27 and have a nice grape design on them. They but do not have a stand (which you need unless they are at the very edge of the table). I think we will be using some 12″ patio bricks for our “stand”.

How about this one? Holds twice as much at half the price! http://www.potterybarn.com/products/p8646/index.cfm?pkey=ctenglsser

The dispensers are beautiful. I also like the ones that graciette2 linked to.

I got some at Target…they aren’t the prettiest ones around, but I think with the lemonade and the slices in there they will look just as nice. This isn’t the one I got, but it is similar (mine is octagonal)

Lillian Vernon has one too, though a bit “outdoorsy” and casual.

Wow MCRBride! That site has some awesome jars!

Miss Lime - This may be stretching it, but would your venue be interested in adding a couple of the dispensers to their collection? What about your caterer? What about a local rental company? You could ask them if they wanted to purchase them off you once you are done with them.

Awesome sources, everyone! I had done research awhile ago, but deleted all the links when I decided to give up. These are much better, though :).
