Romantic Coiffures

July 12th, 2007 @ 1:49 pm by Mrs. Radish

I want the overall look of my hair and my bridesmaids hair to be kind of loose and romantic. I don’t want anything too sleek or modern looking, since that won’t really fit in with the look/feel of everything else we’re doing.

For my hair specifically, I think I will wear it partly up/partly down. My hair is really thick, long, and naturally curly so there is no point in trying to do an updo. It would just take forever and it would probably fall out.

Anyway, here are some nice hairstyles that I’ve come across:

Never underestimate the power of hairstylists and their bobbypins! My hair is incredibly thick, long and curly and I had a loose, romantic, curly updo (a bit like picture 1 in your first row here). It didn’t take long at all and it stayed perfectly in place all day (without tons of hairspray too). You’d be surprised–if you’re interested in an updo at all, go ahead and ask your stylist to try it during your hairtrial.

Could you tell me where the photo top right is from? Do you have larger images posted somewhere? I’m going for a similar look. I have some of the images that you’ve chosen already but the more I can show my hairdresser the better.

Thanks!

I have long curly hair too - and brought the first picture on the 2nd row to my practice hair session!

I still want my hair to be curly, because that’s how I usually wear my hair and there’s no sense in fighting it (especially on what will probably be a humid day in august).

So I will be leaving it curly & pulling it up loosely like in that picture, or having a half-up/half-down style (My hair guy practiced both, I need to decide!)

I went for the same look for my wedding. I have thick hair and it usually holds curls well, because my hair is also naturally curly. I got married in June and had my hair done at 11am, and by the time my ceremony started, my tight curls were at the perfect level - loose and extra soft (I told them to go light on the hairspray). After the wind and the heat, my hair went pin straight by the reception time. pics are in my name link.

Also, a tip my stylist told me: avoid the bangs because with the heat, you’ll be sweating and it will stick to your forehead or face. And people will be hugging you and kissing your cheeks, they might eat your hair by accident. EW!
