The Highlight of My Day

Ok, I’m a dork, but ever since my invitations went out last Monday, I can’t wait to go home and check the mail!! Mr. E and I both guess how many RSVPs will be in the day’s batch. They have been rolling in with surprising consistency… and so far, they are all YES!! (Thats a good thing, but we need a about 20+/- declines to be at my ideal guest count of 180).

I know this is a total generalization and it differs for everyone, but based on your experience, what percentage of declines did you get?

Out of a 155 guest invites sent out we have only gotten 2 declines. Our ideal number is 150. We still have a few weeks before they are all due back and I am still waiting for about 20ish people to RSVP. I think declines may not come in until the very last week for us.

So far, out of 135 people invited (including “and guests” and children), we have 91 “yes” responses, so that’s what, about 33% declines? We’re still waiting on 60 more responses, and the RSVP deadline’s a week away.

we invited 265 and got 85 declines, so 32% declined.

We got a lot of “yes”es at first - the “no”s roll in later - we have a pretty steady 76% yes return rate…which is about what we expected since its a “sorta” destination…not really a destination, but enough of a pain to basically be one. Usually it about 15-20% decline rate.

and yes, I run to the mailbox like a freak or hassle my fiance med-day to know what’s happened thus far…it is a sickness…

We invited 266 and we have 122 coming…We expected about 150. Crazy!

Our RSVP deadline was Tuesday, and I have 82% of the responses booked. We’re looking at a 30% decline rate - high, but that’s because fully one-half of the invitees live only within flying distance and couldn’t/didn’t want to make the trip.

Hee hee…I keep doing the same thing, running home to check the mail and scouring the mailbox to make sure I haven’t missed any!

oh i’m praying for the 30% decline rate! we’ve budgeted for 300 guests and it’s creeping up to 330 now! i just really hope that the 30% who decline are the people i don’t care about. i’d be really sad if someone i was looking forward to having at my wedding wasn’t coming.

We invited 197 — with less than 3 weeks til RSVP date, we have 83 yes’s and 22 no’s, for a total of 105 responses so far.

Which makes me happy because the reception will be a lot more comfortable if we at least get down to the 170 mark.

I too share the mailbox obession! We also started receiving gifts so I’m always UBER excited to get home from work. Our RSVP deadline is in 6 days and so far we have 50 yes’s 22 no’s and 85 who have not responded!!! I expect a total of about 80-90 people considering many of them are from out of town. I think the best way to estimate how many people are coming is to go through YOUR list and mark the people you think will come, then tally it up- you know your guests better than anybody or any equation.

All I’ve gotten so far are yes’s…..I guess the future no’s are still deciding….

50% - sounds shocking, but it’s exactly as we expected given our our of town guest situation.

So far none. We sent out invitations 2 weeks ago and all responses to this point have been Yes. We still have 2.5 weeks before the RSVP deadline, and even then I don’t expect all responses to be in. It’s looking like our wedding will be THE event of the year. While I’m flattered…someone needs to say no. :oP

Approximately 20% decline rate (live in Atlanta, wedding is in our college town in Virginia).

The RSVP deadline is Saturday and my fingers are crossed for some last minute big fat NO’s. Nothing makes my day like coming home to a handful of declines in the mailbox! I guess that’s what happens when you decide to be a big girl and pay for your entire wedding. :)

About 1/2 decline, but many were in Asia or in the military. Also wedding was in dead of winter, so understandable some feared weather & flying.

we invited over 112 out of towners, with a total of 153 invited, we have about a 23% decline rate, with 7% non responders (could be coming, could be not coming).

How quickly did you all get the responses back? We got 4 a day at the beginning, but now, 2 weeks after we started getting them, they have trickled off…and we’ve only heard from 1/3 of the people we invited! Is that normal? They still have until 8/1 to reply….

We are still waiting to get some of our RSVPs back, but here are our %’s so far:

84 guests or 3.67% Yes
64 guests or 27.8% No
82 guests or 35.6% Still Waiting

Opps that first one should have read 36.7% Yes.

I think it depends on the size of your wedding. We were initially only inviting 100 ppl (that number has since risen to 135), and we knew that most of them would say yes. Also, we sent out STD’s, and learned by word of mouth who was an was not planning on attending. Our space can only comfortably fit a few over 100 ppl, so I’m PRAYING for more no’s! But so far, 48 yesses and 8 no’s, and there’s still about 3 weeks until the deadline!

I’m glad to hear that others share my mailbox checking disease.
