About Mrs. Butterscotch

…And this one is just right. That is what I like to think the wedding day will be, not too cold and not too hot but just right.

We live in Seattle so the weather, no matter what time of year, is questionable. My friend Renee got married in August ‘05 and she had thunder, hail, rain you name it. But then last year August we had record heat. I think this year we are heading for the same sunny (cross my fingers) weather. Then I thought *crap* I am going to be hot in my dress when we take outdoor photos. Sure I could have my sister fan me like I am Cleopatra (hand fed grapes not needed) or I could carry a lovely fan…

I was wondering how do you plan to stay cool on your big day?

I had a bucket of ice that I stuck my feet in to cool off while I was getting ready. Not much help during the photos, but great before the ceremony.

I’m getting married in August in Seattle as well. After yesterday’s scortcher, I am hoping for a balmy 75-85 degree range. To stay cool, I am thinking of bringing some quick ice packs that I can smack together to cool me off… at least for a couple minutes at a time.

Cleavage Coolers. Ice packs you stick in your bra… but covered in “bridal fabrics”. I haven’t ordered them yet but plan to soon. One in my bra, one in the small of my back, and I’ll be set.

Dude–yesterday it was almost 100 in Seattle. I have a cold in this heat–I’m praying for it to cool off before September! :)

This is exactly why I’m having my wedding in October in the Northeast! I hate being hot.

I’m in the same situation — we’re getting married in mid August, in western NY. Which means: it could be 90 and hot, like it was 2 years ago; or it could be a cool 65, like it was last year - !

A friend of mine had a parasol she used - a little shade went a long way for her. Totally cute photo ops too.

On a side note, can I get a holla from all the other Seattle brides/brides to be - it’s too damn hot here!!! :)

We’ll be on the beach, so we’re counting on ocean breezes and a short ceremony, then up to the patio for drinks! We’ll probably make fans available to our guests, as well.

We’re doing program fans and iced mini water bottles for our guests. But I haven’t even considered myself yet. I am forgoing a slip which will probably help a little. Those cleavage coolers sound great!
