Skin, Hair, Nails Miracle Worker?

July 15th, 2007 @ 7:52 pm by Mrs. Bee

New York Magazine recently featured Vitabiotic’s Perfectil Tablets - a bestselling U.K. and European dietary supplement that’s supposed to improve your skin, hair and nails.  Now it’s finally available in the States for $16.99 at places like Duane Reade and drugstore.com.

I’ve found nothing but rave reviews online about this product so far.  Is this supplement something you’d consider trying for healthier skin, hair and nails for your wedding day?  Or if you’ve tried this product already, please let us know if it’s worked for you!

I’m taking GNC’s hair skin and nails right now and am not that thrilled with it….it seems like my hair may have improved (thickness is better), but my nails seem to be worse - cracking and peeling all the time! Will definitely give this a try!

Does this kind of product simply improve your hair/skin/nails, or make your hair/nails grow faster? I am weary of anything that will make your hair/nails grow faster, because I have heard of girls taking pre-natal vitamins for this and although their hair grows in faster and thicker, so does the hair in places that you don’t necessarily want lots of hair!!!

brooke - i wrote a blog on prenatal vitamins awhile back: http://www.weddingbee.com/2007/03/28/prenatal-vitamins-for-healthy-hair/

i’ve been taking them and have not noticed any excess unwanted hair growth. ;)

LS- I have been taking GNC’s hair skin and nails for almost 2 years now. If you just started with the vitamins there is a time period where your nails get worse. But you will notice that they all seem to break off at a certain point. Once they grow back out they are stronger than ever.

Keep up with it and you will see an improvement. I love the GNC product. But you do have to get over that first breaking point with your nails.

Soaking my nails in lukewarm milk for 10-15 minutes has always helped strengthen my nails.

Katie B - good to hear, thanks for the response! I was starting to get seriously discouraged. I’ve almost finished a large bottle of it, and the nail situation isn’t getting better. However at this point ( 2 mos from my wedding ), I feel like I may as well stay in it to win it. I figure 2 weeks before the wedding I will make sure to always have my nails painted, then I’m more careful with them and they tend to grow better. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for though!

I’ve tried perfectil and like most vitamins they work after about 3 months. My skin and my nails are healther so far. However i haven’t noticed much change in my hair, it does grow like a caveman in unwanted areas though.

Hi! i have a big doubt… is just that since a month ago i wanted to be skinnier so i bought a pill call Lowex mg 15… and this pill what should make you is lose interest in eat and eat healthier.. and that just didnt worked to me.. so i went to Gnc where my father used to buy all his vitamins thinking that they should have something to make me loss some weight… and i got CLA… which is a kind of fat burner.. and i got it but there was also a vitamin that makes my hair grow in a natural way so i got it two for 4 months, this is just my first week but i just want to know if there´s kind of contradiction with it… hope somebody can helpme ;)
