Guestbook Table Mock Up

July 17th, 2007 @ 4:53 pm by Mrs. Emerald

This past weekend I decided to do a mock-up of our Guestbook table so that the Day-Of Coordinator will know how I want it to be set up. I know, I know, its a Guestbook table for cryin’ out loud… how hard could it be?! Mr. E thinks I have a knack for making things more complicated, hehe.

Our guestbook will be set up on a 6-foot long banquet table in the cocktail hour area. So I cleared off my dining room table (this was difficult, as it was literally BURIED under mounds of wedding-related stuff) and pulled out one of the leafs, which made the table exactly 6-feet long. Perfect!

In addition to our guestbook, there will be 4 framed photos: Mr. E’s parents on their wedding day, 2 pictures of my parents on their wedding day, and a shot of Mr. E and I in the middle (currently the blank frame, because I haven’t decided on what picture to use). There is also a sign that says, “Please Sign Our Guestbook”, and the little tented cards in front of the frames will have our parents names and maybe their wedding dates (I’m not sure if Mr. E’s parents remember their wedding date?!). I stacked a few random boxes and bags to simulate that gifts can be placed next to our cardbox. Also on the table will be 5 of my wrapped votives and some signing pens (probably fine tipped Sharpies… but will they bleed through the page?? I hope not…)

Funny thing to note: See the large blue sheet in the background? That’s actually Mr. E holding up a blanket to cover up a very cluttered bookshelf. It was too distracting and made all the elements of the table set-up hard to see, haha. See his feet? What a good sport!

Here is a close-up of our cardbox from Cost Plus World Market. The red tag will have some sort of message indicating to guests that it is for cards. I tucked a little piece of folded paper in the hinge so that it remains partially open.

Very nice job, and fantastic that Mr. E held up the blanket! The paper in the hinge of the card box is wonderful– it looks great!

Ahaha I didn’t notice the feet until you mentioned Mr. E. Cute card box! I like how you made it partially open. =) It looks like its saying, “Feed meeeee”, cards of course.

Just wondering why you are doing 2 pictures of your parents wedding day and only 1 of Mr. E’s parents.

How cute! I love the setup! For me, my bridesmaids actually made a wedding cake box for cards:
It kinda looks like this but in my wedding colors:

I’ll have to post pictures when they’re finished with that DIY project.

I never thought of putting fake presents on the table for the wedding! What a great idea to show guests where they can put their stuff.

I mean, it’s not like you can have a table with a sign saying “Presents Go Here!”

:)

Dee & Becky,
Good question, it just so happens that all we could find is that one picture of Mr. E’s parents! And I love both pictures from my parents wedding (which were readily available), so I decided to use them both. =D

What a gorgeous card box! And I really like the idea of the framed photos there. Just tonight we were looking at some of my FILs’ wedding photos. Too much fun not to share…may have to copy ya… ;)

We had a small enough wedding that we were able to put the guest “book” (actually slips of paper to put in boxes) and a basket for cards on the same table as all of the favors/escort cards. That ensured everyone knew where the guest book was…even so, we went around to each table and asked them to participate.
