*Clapping Hands In Glee*

July 18th, 2007 @ 12:56 pm by Mrs. Emerald

Last night was our flower trial!! I absolutely heart205 our floral designer, Kelly Marie, from Fleur Couture. Initially we met with 3 fantastic florists, all of whom I would have had no qualms about hiring because of their skill. I really struggled with this particular decision, as they were all in a similar price range. But Kelly really *got* my vision, and we picked her purely because of her creativity and vision. I was supposed to see a sample of my bridal bouquet as well as a low centerpiece, but unfortunately her wholesaler got mixed up and didn’t supply some of the flowers for my bouquet (I changed our meeting date a few times). At least I got to see my centerpiece come to life!

I was inspired by these white lanterns I found on Ebay. I asked Kelly Marie to surround it with flowers and create a “garden-like” feel.

And this is what we got!

The arrangement includes black magic roses, deep red and fuscia dahlias, sage green variegated pittsporum (the greenery), moss, and one additional flower that is TBD. Normally, I’m not a fan of greenery, but in this case, I think it really creates the “garden” that I am looking for. The arrangement will also be surrounded by river rocks and 7 wrapped votives.

Here it is all lit up with the candles (but no river rocks). YAY for flowers and Fleur!! I am bringing this arrangement to our tasting today at our venue so I can see how it looks on an actual 10-person round table. Stay tuned for more updates on that…

I’m glad you were so happy with your trial! We’re also using Fleur, and I had the same experience with Kelly Marie during our consultation - she just “got” what was going on in my head, even when I couldn’t verbalize it. I won’t have my trial for a few more months, but it puts me at ease to hear how satisfied her other customers are.
