About Mrs. Corn

The One With Two Parties, Cont.

July 18th, 2007 @ 11:36 am by Mrs. Corn

I just got my invite to our rehearsal dinner. Mr. Corn’s mom asked me months ago to help her design an invitation for the rehearsal party. While in St, Louis for the Frozen Four Hockey Tournament back in April, we went to Archiver’s, a scrapbooking store that we had actually first seen in Columbus, Ohio at another Frozen Four Hockey Tournament three years ago!

Note: Archiver’s is an interesting store; I was surprised, considering the natural progression of the scrapbooking phenomenon towards paper goods and invitation idolizing that the store had nary an invitation idea in the house. That said, good for them for keeping their focus on scrapbooking in this world where there is an overpriced paper specialist on every corner. Who am I kidding? There could NEVER be too many paper specialty stores. Boo Archiver’s!!

Ok…sorry about that…my rant is over.

Anywho…while at Archiver’s my future MIL and I picked out some paper and created a basic design concept and then she hired someone to make them for her. Here is the final product. All of our guests received the large invitation and then anyone who is in the wedding and their families also received the insert telling them about the rehearsal dinner immediately after the rehearsal.

The best part about these is that I didn’t have to make them. :)

everyone invited to your wedding got an invite to the rehearsal? wow. we only invited the people in the wedding party, our grandparents, and our parents. i’d be worried that people that attended the rehearsal would expect to be fed at the dinner, even if they didn’t receive the insert….i hope i’m wrong, for your sake!

Hm, the larger invitation says that there’s a dinner and wine tasting so I’m assuming the smaller piece has info on the actual rehearsal, not the rehearsal dinner. I would think going to the actual rehearsal would be incredibly boring if you’re not in the wedding.

Maybe I should have clarified…all of our guests were invited to the Rehearsal Party…the large invite in the pictures. Any guests who will be at the actual rehearsal received the insert inviting them to the rehearsal dinner that is before the party. I have never heard of people attending a wedding rehearsal who aren’t specifically asked to attend. Unless someone guesses the time of the rehearsal itself…they won’t know when it is anyway and therefore wouldn’t be able to show up.
