One of Mr. Peppermint’s good friends from high school went to fashion school in San Francisco and has graciously given me advice on the dress since I got engaged. She formerly worked for Amy Kuschel. I told her my “requirements” for a dress (not sleeveless & with lace) and the first designer she mentioned was Claire Pettibone. I hadn’t really heard of her (this was right after I got engaged), but I thought I’d give it a shot…

From the moment I walked in, I felt confident that this was the place for me. It’s a smaller shop where you get the feeling like you’re going through a friend’s closet. I tried on nearly all the dresses–and didn’t feel rushed. In fact, they really encouraged me to try on styles that I wasn’t sure about. The service was fantastic–and they didn’t even follow you into the dressing room! And, more importantly, I never once felt pressured. It really was a wonderful experience!I never figured myself to be one of those brides who got emotional when trying on dresses…but when they put on the veil while I was trying on one of the gowns, I must confess, I got a little choked up: It really is happening!
So, without further delay, here were some of my favorite choices:
The Laurel (loved the back of this one!):

The Kaelyn (if I picked this, they would ad straps similar to the Juliet):

The Yolanda (the is one that I wouldn’t have tried on without a push and actually ended up liking it):

I scheduled to come back with my family during a trunk show (yay! 10% off!!) to pick what would soon become “the Dress”.
Stay tuned…
