Teach/Coach @ private schools in LA Engagement Date: March 31, 2006 Wedding Date: November 3, 2007 Venue: Radisson Hotel About Me: I'm a bookkeeper who failed high school algebra. I'm currently living in Los Angeles, literally a street over from where I grew up with Mr. Kiwi, my honey of three years. We have a jumbo mini-dachshund (seriously, he's huuuuge), and we're planning an autumn themed wedding on a shoestring, paid for by ourselves. The wedding date is my late grandma's birthday, I needed her there somehow, and that seemed like the best way for us. I can't believe I'm a Bee! I couldn't be more proud!

Gadget Of The Month

July 19th, 2007 @ 9:28 am by Mrs. Kiwi

Mr. Kiwi loooooves him some gadgets. If we were gifting each other on the day of, I’d consider getting him a subscription to the “Gadget of the month club“.

z999704

Since he’s a fan of cooking (loves to make his own chili for some reason), these cooking gadgets, spaced over a year would be a great surprise. For $129.99 dollars, you get:

January - Vacu Vin Pineapple Slicer / Corer
February - Cuisipro 5 Piece Odd Size Measuring Spoon Set
March - Norpro Egg Slicer/Wedger/Piercer
April - Lamson & Goodnow Granny Fork
May - Microplane Grater / Zester
June - Zeroll Ice Cream Scoop
July - Kernel Kutter
August - Kuhn Rikon Julienne Peeler
September - Vacu Vin Wine Saver
October - Mrs. Anderson’s Pie Shield
November - Silicone Basting Brush
December - Professional Cocktail Shaker

Maybe I should also get him a set of dishwashing gloves. *hint hint*

You’ll totally love the microplane. So many different uses, not just for zesting citrus. I currently use it for grating fresh parmesan cheese to top spaghetti. I’ve become such a food snob that I refuse to buy the powdered “grated” Kraft cheese in a bottle.

It’s also good for grating up some nutmeg for dark greens such as swiss chard or spinach.

I’m sure you and your future hubby will find lots more uses for it than you initially thought! :)

PS - Sorry for the foodie post heh.

i second the microplane - it’s the best one out there. also i use the wine saver all the time. it extends the life of an open bottle of wine an extra couple of days. some cool stuff there!
