Special Wedding Touches

July 25th, 2007 @ 6:46 pm by Mrs. Hibiscus

I’ve gotten a million emails and phone calls from guests telling me their favorite ideas and details from our wedding. People keep commenting on how romantic, unique, fun and special everything was. I’m going to write about what stood out to my friends and family in a couple of different posts, and if you want to hear more about something specific I’ll review that as well. :) I’m going to be posting the special touches as they come to mind and in no particular order.

Our photobooth from Redcheese

Excuse the poor quality of these scanned images but I wanted to show you the banner on the bottom I created for the pictures. I blogged about Redcheese before and you can click here for the details and logistics. I want to focus this post on how much fun everyone had with it (including us). People of all ages (newborns to 80+ years old) used the photobooth and since two copies came out we have a special guestbook with hilarious and sweet comments.

I got the props from the Dollar Tree and the guestbook is a Kolo album which I picked up on sale at Barnes and Nobles. This also doubled as our wedding favor. It’s also an awesome keepsake since we get a CD of all the images that were taken that day. If you can budget for one, I definitely recommend having a photobooth. The photos are just too fun and people are still talking about it!

Very cute. If you don’t mind sharing, how much did it cost?

Mrs. Hibiscus,
Your old posting on the photobooth mentioned that they have specials sometimes. Can you tell me how you find out about them.

I totally want to get a photobooth for our wedding but unfortunately - I can’t justify the cost (plus FI thinks no one will really use it). Too bad though b/c you pics look awesome!

I Love the photobooth! I wish we could afford one. :-) Alas, we’re defaulting to the trusty polaroid camera.

We had an old-fashioned type of photobooth and guests ATE IT UP. Loved it. Worth every penny.

Hi Mrs. Hibiscus! I just viewed your wedding photos from your photographer’s wedding blog–they are BEAUTIFUL! I’m such a fan of tiffany blue. I just started reading Weddingbee while you were on your honeymoon, so I had to start from the beginning of your blog. I had two questions. 1. In your photos, I saw the arch/tent/not sure what you call it where you stood under with Mr. Hibiscus for the wedding ceremony. Did you make that yourself or did the venue provide it? I want an outdoor wedding and I thought your set up was perfect!
2. I am currently trying to lose the whole 30 lb college weight too (i’m glad i’m not alone!). How long did it take you to be a size 4 again with a combo of the southbeach diet/working out? I want to set a realistic time frame for myself to see results, and you are an inspiration! Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! Sorry I’m so late getting back to you guys.

I found out about the specials by emailing them for information. I guess they had my email and then they emailed me when the special was going on.

Thanks Mrs. H! I’ll be looking forward to receiving your email. I’m on day 5 of the South Beach diet or a slightly modified version of it. (I ate steak :) and I’ve had butternut squash soup–no sugar, straight up squash puree with spices…. haha)
