Tetris and Wii Wedding Cakes

July 26th, 2007 @ 3:52 pm by Mrs. Tomato

We all know about the Mario cake. Mrs. Pumpkin just blogged about the Rubik’s Cube cake. Tetris, anyone?!

An obsessive Tetris fan in Singapore was given this wedding cake by his sister and friends. The loose tetriminos you see on various parts of the cake actually had places to be inserted, and the groom was required to “solve the puzzle” before finally cutting and distributing the cake. Clever and gorgeous!

Also, Martha Stewart recently fashioned a Wii Cake:

Unfortunately, the recipe isn’t easy OR cheap. But if you want to give it a try, here it is (the recipe is to the right of the article).

The Wii cake is not meant to be eaten, however (as stated in step 7). So in my book it is totally useless!

the recipe calls for NO BAKING SODA and that means bad tasting cake (the cake will not have a spongey texture) :(

Now let’s talk about how ridiculously airbrushed Martha is on that cover.

haha i got my wired issue in the mail over the weekend and saw martha and a wii cake on the cover and practically died from delight. that cover singularly covers all my loves at once: martha, cake, and technology. even though i didn’t know it was possible, i loved martha even more when i saw her on that cover ^_^
