That Wasn’t So Hard, Now!

July 26th, 2007 @ 2:00 pm by Mrs. Kiwi

Thankfully, the dress skerfuffle has been resolved. Well, so far, at least. I spoke with my future mother-in-law yesterday and she sent me the link to the dress my MOH purchased. What do you know? The dress is available in cinnamon! That Wasn't So Hard, Now! : wedding bridesmaid dress los angeles Whateva012 whateva012 So, as I looked around at the other colors (just to make sure), I told FMIL that cinnamon was the perfect color. She’ll call my MOH (since I was at work) and tell her to call in her dress change. That was the last I heard about it.

The color looks a little bit pinky, but in real life it’s a definite burnt orange/brick mix. First is the color she chose (truffle), and the color we chose, cinnamon.

As you can see, it’s a bit of a difference. :) Whatever. It’s done, and now I can continue scratching at my hives and chewing my nails.

Good job standing your ground. Some things are worth giving in to, but this was definitely not one of them if you ask me!

Glad things worked out the way you wanted them to! What flowers are you guys using for your wedding, anyway?

SNAFU resolved. Your MOH probably has her feathers ruffled over this, so just be aware she might be a little sensitive for a bit. Would be a little extra gentle right now and give her a little space.

YAY! Good job!! I’m sooo glad you are actually getting what you want now!!!! But yeah, I agree with Melanie that maybe you should act all nice to her now so she’s not too bitter, and you already know that you’ve won. :-)

Whew! One inter-family issued resolved. What’s the scoop on the FMIL dress?

My FMIL is going to be wearing the dark brown skirt, but with a top in a lighter gold color. She’ll be beautiful!

I’ve worn that dress twice–in navy and wine–and it’s super comfortable, too! :-)

Kiwi, I am so glad you stood your ground and that FI is being supportive, but I wish you could put this all into perspective a little. My FMIL wore teal to our pink and orange wedding–not even close to the pink my mom wore, or anything in our palette. Every bride’s different in what’s important to him/her in the wedding, but brown IS in the fall color family. In the end, you would have been married and probably no one would have thought twice but you and FI–believe me, on the wedding day no one focuses on the FMIL or MOH. :-)

It’s probably good you were both adamant because it does seem like MOH and FMIL were being slightly jealous and/or immature and/or unreasonable. I’m glad everything worked out and I hope you get well, soon. :-)
