About Mrs. Snow Pea

I’m A Maniac, Maniac!

July 27th, 2007 @ 9:29 am by Mrs. Snow Pea

So it’s been a little quiet lately on my end. What am I up to, you ask? I have officially gone into obsessive organization mode. Each day I obsess over my To-Do list, update my wedding day itinerary, and write crazy emails to my wedding party about everything I think they need to know. It’s not easy being your own wedding planner.  Here are some things I have done that I think brides may find useful:

  • Vendor List
  • Wedding Day Itinerary
  • Cost Sheet
  • Phone List - List of names and cell numbers of everyone involved in the wedding including hotel room numbers.
  • “Do Not Forget” List - List of things not to forget to bring from home to the wedding. ie. marriage license, place cards, rings, shoes, camera, laptop (gotta blog), etc.
  • Wedding Binder
  • Extra Maps and Itineraries - Copies to be distributed to wedding party.

Vendor List:

Letterhead - This was a bit over the top I admit. I was inspired by all the pretty letterheads I saw from vendors, so when our event manager Pilar asked me for a vendor list, I whipped this baby up. The flourish is actually a “font” called Flower Ornaments.

Photo Corner - Just to jazz it up and put a face to a name, I added our photo onto the corner. Then I saved the document as a PDF.

Wedding Day Itinerary - I wanted to be sure that everyone knew their role and what to expect on the wedding day. This will hopefully avoid any confusion and allow them to mentally prepare for the day’s events. Let’s just hope they read it. I have emailed this out, but I will also print an extra updated copy and pass them out on the evening of the rehearsal. I also color coordinated it, so that Girls were Pink, Boys were Blue and Group events were Lilac.

Cost Sheet - I kept a running tab of all wedding related expenses. It is broken down by 1st Deposit, 2nd payment and final balance payment. It also includes dates, check #’s, receipt #’s, description and gratuity.

Hi! Those look awesome! Would you mind e-mailing me the blank templates that you used for the cost sheet, vendor list, and wedding day itinerary? My e-mail address is springchic608 at yahoo dot com. That would be so helpful. Thanks bunches!

I’m right with you, Miss Sweet Pea. I have one master “Brain Dump” document that I’m handing over to our DOC next week Tuesday. It’s so much easier than having to remember it all yourself!

Leesuh-Thanks for pointing that out! I have since fixed that. The screenshot is a little “old”.

Re: templates - I’ll do my best. My wedding is coming up shortly, so I might not be able to get to it until after that. Also, I believe Mrs. Ladybug had a great post on her cost sheet that you can download.

What font did you use for your names on the letter head? Love it!

anaj95 - Hmmm, that’s a good quetion. I can’t recall if it’s Beautiful ES or copperplate. I’ll let you know when I get home and open up the file.

Love the letterhead! I, too, am trying to be super-organized with Excel spreadsheets coming out my ears. (Emphasis on “trying”.)

The other day I misplaced my memory stick with all the spreadsheets - that was a horrible 4 or 5 days w/o my data. Said the St. Anthony prayer (even tho I’m not Catholic) and lone and behold it “reappeared” between the sofa cushions that evening. Moral of that story - back up your data!

Miss Snow Pea, I’d also like to see your spreadsheets (christigpa at gmail) when you have a non-harried moment. I will however look for Mrs. Ladybug’s as well.

i’m an excel whore too! there is NOTHING excel can’t do! i mean it! Excel can do anything - you just have to figure out how to use the tools.

Oh, sweetie, don’t kill yourself. It really all does come together and other than MAJOR non-intuitive information, people really do figure it out.

Aliya’s brain dump document is brilliant. I gave one to my mom (kept updating it on email and forwarding it to her, so she always had the latest) and she delegated from there. It was a big load off my mind and helped her feel included, since I was planning long-distance.

awesome - love to see other brides taking full advantage of excel. i work in an investment bank so wedding planning was an excuse to build a model from scratch!

I think the city/state combo is in copperplate and I don’t think that your names are Beautiful ES (I just tried it and it looks different than what you have). I just love the spacing and ns, ts, and & in that font (which is why I’d like to use the same font for some things I’m doing). Any other ideas for the font for your name?
Thanks in advance!

You look to be very organized!
We have our guest list yes/no/gift/thank you sent all in a spreadsheet.
We also have all the expenses in an Excel spreadsheet (with nice formulas so we could see what the reception would cost with X people attending)
We don’t have a wedding planner/day of coordinator either. I might be starting to freak out a little bit since our wedding is 3 weeks away (and we are 6.5 hours away from where it will be). Just crossing my fingers nothing comes up in the next 2 weeks + a couple days til we get there!

AmandaB - We also have the guest list in excel with the YES/NO. I have the same guest list reprinted with the GIFT description on it and whether or not I sent a Thank You note. I did it separately only because I didn’t want the gift one to float around.

We’re also going to be pretty far from our home, so the “Do Not Forget” list comes in handy. Literally we listed everything from tootbrushes, tape, scissors (wrap last minute gifts), to camera, charger, etc. So we can check everything off and hope we don’t forget it.

Goodluck!!!

Hi Miss Snow Pea. Way to be organized. Can I also get a template of your itinerary and cost sheet? It’s no big hurry. My wedding is not for another 3 months and I know your wedding is coming up pretty quickly. My email is christelnkeone at gmail dot com.

Thanks a bunch!

Wow! Nice work!

I have a basic excel spreadsheet to track costs (mostly just out of curiosity). I need to do a vendor list as well; though we really have 2 “vendors’ so maybe it’s not necessary.
