I just got an email from Mr. Onion (from work). The subject was “Love!!” He went on to tell me how he was having a busy/bummer of a day. He opened his calendar to check on a work thing, and then sent the following email to me:

I realized that I have a mere 45 days until we get married and are off to Curacao for sun, dolphins, snorkeling and smooching!! WOOHOO…I can wait a month and a half! This day just got so much better!!

He’d kill me if he knew I posted that, but he’s a good Mr. Onion and doesn’t read weddingbee lest he spoil any surprises. Here is a picture of the cute aforementioned dolphins at the Dolphin Academy:

I’m not sure what I’m looking forward to more — the wedding or the honeymoon! Ahhh a 12 day vacation!

Hi!!!!! I went to that dolphin academy when I was in Curacao and you are going to LOVE IT! The pics in my knot bio of the dolphin kisses are from there!

Curaco is awesome. You probably already have a hotel but I have to throw my vote in for the Kura Hulanda http://www.kurahulanda.com/ they have one downtown that we stayed in and a new beach club that I haven’t been to.

If you aren’t staying there go there to eat - go to their Museum Restaurant for great salads and go to their Jaipur Restaruant for Indian/Caribbean fusion food. Yum

katydid2007 — i’ve actually been there before (got kissed by a dolphin) but mr. onion has never even been to the caribbean! i plan on kicking it up this time and swiming with them (maybe even in open water).

baghdadbride - kura hulanda is beautiful! i’ve been to the museum but thanks for the tip on jaipur restaurant — i haven’t tried that! we’re staying at the avila beach hotel (so beautiful) outside of town. because i’ve stayed there before (3 years ago) they are giving us a heafty 25% discount for returning that i couldn’t pass up!!

I went to the Dolphin Academy, too! I loved the lagoon and the people that work there. I’m a huge animal lover and I was very glad to see that the staff cares a lot about the animals and weren’t trying to exploit them. It was a wonderful experience. I hope that you both have a terrific time. Enjoy!
