We have a jumbo mini-dachshund (seriously, he's huuuuge), and we're planning an autumn themed wedding on a shoestring, paid for by ourselves. The wedding date is my late grandma's birthday, I needed her there somehow, and that seemed like the best way for us. I can't believe I'm a Bee! I couldn't be more proud!

Our Adventure

July 27th, 2007 @ 1:50 pm by Mrs. Kiwi

Apparently I have a few wedding obsessions. My veil and my first dance song. Okay, and all things fall. So sue me! Yesterday I was watching some show (I think it was Whose Wedding is it Anyway- After the Vows), and I remember thinking, “Isn’t this song a little too cool for this channel?” Then I thought, ya know… this sounds like a great first dance song! So, today I downloaded the song, and also looked up the lyrics.

The song is by Angels and Airwaves, a group including Tom Delonge, member of Blink 182. Called “The Adventure”, it was a huge hit when it came out. The lyrics are beautiful, although the song is a little fast. Perhaps the cake-cutting song? Or our “Smell ya later!” song as we head to our room?

What do you think?

“The Adventure”

I wanna have the same last dream again,
the one where I wake up and I’m alive.
Just as the four walls close me within,
my eyes are opened up with pure sunlight.
I’m the first to know,
my dearest friends,
even if your hope has burned with time,
anything that’s dead shall be re-grown,
and your vicious pain, your warning sign,
you will be fine.

Hey, oh, here I am,
and here we go, life’s waiting to begin.

Any type of love - it will be shown,
like every single tree reach for the sky.
If you’re gonna fall,
I’ll let you know,
that I will pick you up
like you for I,
I felt this thing,
I can’t replace.
Where everyone was working for this goal.
Where all the children left without a trace,
only to come back, as pure as gold,
To recite this all.

Hey, oh, here I am,
and here we go, life’s waiting to begin.
Tonight,
hey, oh, here I am,
and here we go, life’s waiting to begin.
Tonight,
hey, oh, here I am,
and here we go, life’s waiting to begin.

I cannot live, I can’t breathe
unless you do this with me
I cannot live, I can’t breathe
unless you do this with me
I cannot live, I can’t breathe
unless you do this with me
I cannot live, I can’t breathe
unless you do this with me
I cannot live, I can’t breathe
unless you do this with me
I cannot live, I can’t breathe
unless you do this with me

Hey, oh, here I am (do this with me),
and here we go, life’s waiting to begin (do this with me).
Hey, oh, here I am (do this with me).
And here we go, life’s waiting to begin,
life’s waiting to begin.

I loved that song when it came out… still do, mostly. Heard it alot. It’s been a while though. I’d use it if you could find a good place for it!

I like that song! And I actually think it’s kinda mellow…not too fast.
