The Cake

Our cake was modeled after this cake featured in InStyle Weddings by Lovin Sullivan Cakes after a Boontje china pattern:

The Cake : wedding cake W731094011 w73109401

Although the cake was not an exact replica, I still think she did a fantastic job of adapting the cake to our needs/specifications and it was absolutely perfect for us. We had super-high expectations of this cake, as Bronwen is one of the many awesome Food Network chefs that compete in those cake competitions all the time, and we were not disappointed!

The pattern was hand-painted with chocolate over this yummy blue fondant, and we had 3 flavors of cake: silver mojito pound cake, chocolate s’mores cake, and chocolate kahlua cake - every flavor was DELICIOUS and the guests are still talking about it! We rented a clear lucite/plastic cake base from them for an extra $75 and they covered it with fondant to create a clean look underneath the cake. The cake toppers were the hand-blown glass birds I purchased previously off etsy.com.

The cake ended up being $1050 for 100 servings (3 cake tiers with different flavors and 1 false tier) + $75 for the cake base rental.

A+++ all around for Bronwen and Frosted Art Bakery! We would definitely recommend and use them again!

Oh my god, it’s absolutely GORGEOUS! If I liked fondant (which I don’t, at least at our bakery), I’d totally show my cake decorator pictures of yours and say “do that!”
