I Almost Forgot About Our Wedding Cake

July 31st, 2007 @ 2:15 pm by Mrs. Apple

It’s been almost 2 months since my wedding and I am still visiting Weddingbee (this has now become an addiction) at least ten times a day. I’m still anxiously waiting for our wedding video from our videographer. :( But in the meantime, just to reminice back, I’ll scroll through my IPhotos, visit our wedding website gallery, and read my postings.

After reading my final wedding posts, I realized I never posted a photo of my wedding cake. Last night Mr. Apple and I caved in and cut ourselves a big chunk of our wedding cake. I know it’s bad luck to eat it before one year, but man it tasted so good even 2 months later!

This is what we ate minus the pretty flowers. :)

Funny moment : Momma Apple came up to me letting me know that we should eat the cake now since it’s melting and starting to collapse. Though you really can’t tell from the photos, it was a Mad Hatter Cake.

hey mrs. apple! love your cake!! how did you go about eating your cake? was it frozen? did you de-frost it first, then cut a chunk? my hubby and i have been married for a little over 2 months and every week he hounds me to eat some of our cake. he says it’s not fair b/c we never got a slice on the day of & we didn’t get to eat our tiramisu dessert either b/c we had to go on to our pae-baek (korean wedding ceremony). i keep telling him to wait until may 12, 2008. haha. but i think if you give me some advice i’ll cave as well. =P thanks!!

The flavors were Grand Mariner Orange, Kahlua Chocolate, and Amaretto Almond.-)I heard raves for the Kahlua Choclate.

We kept it in the freezer.

I would suggest cutting a slice (it’ll be frozen so make sure to be extra careful not to slip your hand) and either defrost in the microwave or thaw it out. I would suggest just thawing it cuz it will dry a little in the microwave. We added a spoon of cool whip just for some texture.

Good luck, savor the moment as you bite into it! We did! Haha

We ended up eating our top tier as soon as we returned from the honeymoon! Ate it with the complimentary champagne received at the honeymoon hotel, while we opened gifts and read cards. Great memory!

cute cake and the flavors sound delicious!

I stumbled onto one of your old posts about a beautiful wedding band from H. Stern? Did you end up buying it? If you don’t mind me asking, how much did it cost? I absolutely love it and I’m thinking about calling them up myself!

you know, that sounds like something my mom would say! i don’t know if i’d want to eat old cake…i’d much rather just get a new one from the baker. but that’s just me. lol.

Mrs. Apple says:

Connie - Yes, i did buy it! You can see a photo of it in one of my last blogs titled “An artistic approach by F8 Studio”. It’s the second photo placed on Mr. Apple’s badge.

I love it that its really light (white gold) and delicate looking. I spoke with Susanne and she was really helpful throughout the whole process. She shipped one to me that she had in stock (yellow gold) until I had my custom wedding band made. I just had to leave her my credit card number.

I can’t find the receipt but from what I remember it was around $700-800.

Let me know if you need anymore information! GL!

Gorgeous pictures! I must have missed that since i was looking for “ring” related posts.

Did you call the international number on the website? I hope they can still make it. It is too cute!

Mrs. Apple says:

Yes, I think I did but make sure to contact the store on 5th Avenue. There are two locations in NY.

i think this is the number. (212) 688-0300

Good luck!
