For my something blue, I bought an aquamarine ring for my right hand. I like it for three reasons. One, I wear it on my right hand every day so it doesn’t get jealous of my left. Two, if I ever am doing something where I can’t wear my wedding ring, I’ll wear the blue one on my left hand instead. Three, we got married in March, which is the month for aquamarine.

This is a cute store but I don’t recommend ordering furniture from them. I ordered a table in June and was promised a week delivery date. It came in two months later shattered in a million pieces. I just decided to cancel the order-too much of a headache without any compensation.

Haven’t progressed to this part of the planning yet, so it’s basically still up in the air. I would like to have a small picture of my dog with me, so perhaps I can frame it with blue paper. Sounds silly, I know… but he is so important to me and it meant the world to me when he liked my boyfriend the first time they met.. still one of my favorite memories. My something blue is a garter given to me by my sorority big sister. It’s double blue (light blue & dark blue) and gold (our sorority colors) with a Choose Children (children’s philanthrophy) pin on it. I wore it on the day I was initated into Alpha Xi Delta and it’s purpose is to bring good luck and the strength of your sisters if you wear it again on your wedding day (I will of course have a different garter for my FI to toss though!)

I’m such a nerd, I synthesized a blue azo dye (old-fashioned chemical dye) and used it to add a tint to several of my wedding day articles including ribbon for my flower girls and my something blue: trim for my veil and matching trim for my garter.

My fiancee gave me a blue topaz and diamond necklace on the anniversary of our first date. Because I loved that necklace so much, when he bought my engagement ring several years later, he had my e-ring made with channel set diamonds in the band and a large beautiful blue topaz as the main stone. It’s super special to me because he designed it to be personal, meaningful and unique. That will be my “something blue!”

the first gift my FI ever gave me was a tiffany’s keychain (which i’m still using 6 years later) and i’m planning to use the blue pouch it came in as my something blue. i’ll either pin it to the inside of my dress, or have my florist put it under my bouquet wrap with just a corner of it showing.
