Today we’re giving away a beautiful, palm-sized copper and porcelain orb hand-painted with the words “to have” and “to hold”, from Scarlett Alley. Mrs. Bell Pepper used these as her something blue in her wedding just last month. To win, comment below telling us your “something blue”.

I love the orb! I sooo want to win! When I was at my mom’s house the other day… she pulls out a feathery blue garter and says “look Jen, you’re something blue.” She got it at Claire’s in a 50 cent bin. How cute is that?

My sapphire engagement ring! But my navel ring and the piercing at the tip of my ear both have matching blue opalescent stones and I’m not sure if they’re going to come out for the wedding.

mine was a piece of dark blue lace from my late grandmother’s (who died before I was born) wedding suit. We discovered it about a month before the wedding. I loved having something with me that day that was hers. We also discovered that she had carried Gardenias, which I had already chosen.

For my something blue, I bought an aquamarine ring for my right hand. I like it for three reasons. One, I wear it on my right hand every day so it doesn’t get jealous of my left. Two, if I ever am doing something where I can’t wear my wedding ring, I’ll wear the blue one on my left hand instead. Three, we got married in March, which is the month for aquamarine.
