Tea Please?

July 31st, 2007 @ 9:25 am by Mrs. Licorice

I’m having a dilemma. I cannot decide how to thank my beautiful bridesmaids for, well, being my bridesmaids. The brightest ideas I’ve had so far consist of two options:

1) A tea party at Vintage Tea in Alpharetta, GA. I’ve attended tea there before. The food was so good (and cute, due to it’s teeny, tiny size). The decor is shabby chic and very southern. Old hats and furs line the walls for patrons to wear during their meal. And yes, everyone does try them on! What’s not to love?

2) A small gathering at Honey Nail Salon and Boutique. This is quite possibly the hottest nail salon in the ATL. The owner was inspired to open this little gem after moving from San Fransico to Atlanta. Her mission is to provide a sanitary experience using green products. Again, what’s not to love?

GAH! I really wanted to treat my favorite gals to something really special, if I could just figure out what that is. Any opinions or suggestions?

I’ll take a mani/ pedi over tea any day!

I think the girls would like this a lot more because they have to do their nails anyway for the wedding and thats one less thing that they have to worry about.

A bit of relaxation and pampering is a great gift for your ladies.

Fallon hit it spot on. Mani/pedi but bring in some tea sandwiches and petit fours to nibble on!

I agree with the other ladies. :) I’d be all about the spa trip! :)

My vote is for the tea party! We did this when my best friend got married. We all laughed and had SOOOOOOOOOOO much fun! We had fun choosing our hats and the food and tea were sensational.

mani pedi!

Andrea says:

I like both ideas! what if you did the tea and a manicure? Since manicures a generally much cheaper, it wouldn’t break the bank and you could do both!

*cheaper than a pedi

Honey is easily my favorite nail place in Atlanta — definitely go there! :)

They both sound fantastic; I don’t know how you’ll choose! Otoh, I love afternoon tea, and it’ll prolly be way cheaper (as a fellow student, that’s always a consideration), so that would be my choice.

Definitely the tea!!! I did it for my bridesmaids a few weeks ago and they absolutely LOVED it! I got a bunch of hats and silk flowers for those of them that forgot their hats so they could make one - we had a great time!

Mani & pedis for all!

Although a tea is unique, how many times do you get to get mani/pedis in a group? Sounds like fun to me! And that Honey place looks soooo cool.

CS says:

I would do tea, since its easier to actually hang out and chat during a tea.

Mary says:

ohhh.. if possible to do both, then do both! But mani/pedi definitely tops my list!

Why not ask your bridesmaids which they prefer?

awww, i really like the tea idea, but the mani/pedi is probably more practical and will be more appreciated by the gals. enjoy!

i went a little crazy with my girls and i treated them to mani/pedis and also a design-your-own purse party (not all in one day!). i stole the purse idea from miss plumeria. check out http://www.1154lill.com/home/
a rep came to my house with dozens of bag designs and even more fabric to choose from! all the girls LOVED designing their own handbags and are still thanking me for a fun and original afternoon activity.

maybe you can host the tea followed by a pay-your-own way mani-pedi party? They both sound great!

Marissa says:

I think it really depends on your bridesmaids…I’d love the tea but the mani/pedi just isn’t something I would be interested in at all.
