Getting Ready…

Some shots of me and Mr. Bluebell getting ready just before the ceremony!

All photos by the fabulous Jane Heller.

When I was off getting my hair done, Jane was hanging my dress and veil up all over the place (mostly on the balcony!!) for all these great shots.

My cousin is a professional masseur, so he gave Mr. Bluebell a little pre-ceremony massage while I was getting ready. Hehehe.

The rings! Last year when my brother and sister-in-law got married, my sister-in-law requested we find something cool in the house to use for the rings. Someone (my mom?) found this cool little wooden thing, and put a little moss on top for the rings to rest on, so we decided to make it an official family tradition! (Unfortunately there was some kind of mixup though, and during the actual ceremony, the rings were handed to us in a ring box. Honestly, I didn’t even realize it until we got photos back though. blush011 But I’m still glad that Jane took a few pictures of the rings in here even if it wasn’t a part of the ceremony!)

I didn’t get around to doing my nails until about 3 minutes before the ceremony was going to start, which sent everyone into a bit of a panic. There was a lot of yelling “It’s clear! Seriously! It’ll be okay!!!” But, in fact, I didn’t spill a drop, and it was dry by the time we were actually ready to start walking!

Thank you everyone!!! :-D

My dress is Pronovias’s Jaguar, but that has a halter neck (sort of) that I had altered off (and then some of the lace from the neck bit edging the top of the strapless part.) I LOVED it soooo much - and, by pure lucky coincidence, it was the cheapest dress that I tried on that I liked at all!! The saleslady brought it to me and I fell in love and had to have before I asked the price, so I was scaaared but it was literally the cheapest one I tried on at that store! So yeah, Pronovias dresses are definitely gorgeous and great quality and WAY cheaper than a couture gown!!

Miss Bluebell,

Beautiful wedding! It looks like you all had a lovely celebration! :-) I love that you had your great-great grandmother’s necklace and your grandmother’s purse.

Also, did you post a picture of your engagement ring on pricescope? I was looking for info on engagement rings a while back and found this gorgeous cushion cut micro pave vera wang ring and just decided that’s my dream e-ring–which I think might have been something that you posted! Anyway, I had seen the pricescope page a while ago and then thought that you looked kind of familiar when I saw these wedding pics-Since my bf and I are shopping for e-rings, I check out pricescope pretty often…because I’m wedding planning too, I check out weddingbee. Anyway, if you are both posters, I wanted to compliment you on your beautiful e-ring and congratulate you on your lovely wedding!

Melissa - hahaha, that’s totally me!!! I’m virtually never on pricescope any more these days, but they are all very nice and helpful people over there so I hope you’re getting something out of it! And thanks; I love my ring too! :-) I hope you love yours as much as I love mine!

Kara - that’s so cool; we can be Adirondack Pronovias 2007 buddies! :-) Where in the Adirondacks?

And thanks one more time to all the other commenters too!!! :-D

I love your gown and veil. I have the pronovias ideal dress and was wondering which veil did you get because it matched perfectly!

Thank youuuu new posters!!! :-D

Fifi - 1) GO PRONOVIAS!! 2) I had my veil made at Sposabella Lace in NYC. They just have a zillion laces that you can look at and compare and hold up to your dress scrap (once you get it hemmed or whatever) to see what looks best with it. So I have no idea what exact lace this was, but I was so happy it went so well together too! And then they’ll make whatever kind of veil you want for you with the edging you choose, and you get a veil fitting to make sure you love it before they sew it all on!

Hi Mrs. Bluebell,

Just wanted to say that I LOVE the pictures and your entire wedding… such incredible thought went into everything… it’s so beautiful. I bought my Jaguar dress yesterday (in Ivory) and am sure that I’m going to come back to your site hundreds of times between now and my July wedding to see the pictures of you in yours. (Have you seen those awful ones online from Pronovias?!). I am doing a long veil too (but plain) and am having tool straps to cover my shoulders put on for the ceremony only. I would love to know if you have any pictures of the dress that you could email me?!

Thanks!
