Not only was it Mr. Violet’s birthday yesterday, but it was also the day we went to get our marriage license. We got to the courthouse at 8:20am (doors open at 8:30) and there were already people lining up, but it wasn’t as bad as we imagined. We were done and out in 45 minutes. It was totally worth the $35 licensing fee. No blood test or even a birth certificate; fill the form, sign, pay with money order and that was it!

Mr. Violet filling out our form.. Is it scary that he can remember all of my personal information (ie. my social security number) by heart and I have no clue as to his info?

We’re almost there, a month!

Lucky you! That looks like the Queens office and it took us ages! We were so annoyed that we didn’t even take a smiling photo. However, we did get away with completing the form in black ink - a small victory against bureaucracy!

We also went to the Queens office! Unfortunately when we were there they forgot to put that sign out so we got stuck in line with all the traffic ticket people for about 30 minutes until they explained that marriage license people go in a different line.

Haha it’s not scary…well, maybe because you don’t know his..my parents know each other’s SSN by heart too. I always thought it was pretty crazy!

We got ours this weekend too! It was such a headache. We weren’t allowed to take pics in the office.
