A Unique Gift…

August 6th, 2007 @ 4:31 pm by Mrs. Peppermint

For all you other girls who are looking for a registry off the beaten path, here is another option I recently discovered: Excitations.

It’s based in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Washington DC & Miami (soon!). This is a great alternative if you feel like you don’t need anything off a traditional registry. Similar to a honeymoon registry in that it offers you experiences, it can be redeemed in your area. With a wide variety of options ranging from gourmet cooking for two class to intro to archery to swimming with sharks (okay, that might be too scary for me!), it sounds like there’s something for everyone…

Maybe you could even get this for an amazing gift for your BM’s?

I love this idea and would probably use it as a bridesmaid gift - but my dreams were crushed when I realized it’s only in certain cities, i.e. not in Minneapolis. Fricken a….that’s the bad part of living by a major metropolitan area that’s just not quite major enough.

I love these types of gifts especially for people that already have homes and stuff to fill them.

Oh thank goodness. I was worried for a moment that you were going to suggest plates printed with vacation images.

Andria…nail.on.head. Seattle gets no love, either!

This idea would have been great for our “date night” shower my friends threw for me. I love the idea of “practical” gifts like this that are esentially for the bride AND groom. :-)

I know - I think I’m going to research this and see if there is anything like it around here. If not, maybe I could just find my own activities and just give people individual activities that I find. But that would be just another thing to get done, and it probably won’t happen! Speaking of Seattle, it looks like we’ll be spending an 8 hour layover in Seattle on our way to our honeymoon…we are gonna try to hit up Pike (?) Fish Market, and the space needle. I think that’s all we’ll have time for so hopefully those will be sufficient for a mini-Seattle trip!

This does look like a great idea. Here’s another one you might enjoy. It’s kind of like a honeymoon that you can take from home. It’s dinners from different countries around the world you can make at home. The Destination Passport is like a traditional wine club. Check it out…
