About Mrs. Bell Pepper

For Sale: Haute Wedding Jewelry

August 6th, 2007 @ 3:40 pm by Mrs. Bell Pepper

I’m selling my bridal jewelry and accessories. I bought a lot from Haute Bride, Regina B and miscellaneous boutiques in the Philly area:

Haute Bride Bracelet:

z102974

The ever so popular Haute Bride Bracelet. All the guests loved the bracelet and it was perhaps one of my favorite bridal accessories. The original cost was $307 with shipping and handling, and I’m putting it for auction on ebay at a starting bid of $70.

Regina B Floral Hair Comb/Pin: I made an appointment with Regina B to have this hair comb custom made, and she came up with this unique, vintage style floral hair comb. If you look at the closeup photos, the hair comb is very intricate involving several layers of crystal petals. Regina placed all the swarovski crystals by hand and scattered a few gold accented crystals to add more dimension and contrast.

The hair comb is pretty neat because you can use it as a comb or a pin. It’s perfect for an updo or you can also wear it along with a satin sash. Original cost $325, starting bid for the auction is $50.

Haute Bride Brooch with Swarovski Crystals and Gold Accented Crystals: I pinned this gorgeous brooch on my gold sash and it was a beautiful complement with the Haute Bride bracelet. Original cost $175. Starting bid for my ebay auction is $20.

Filippa Scott London “Susie” ivory shoes:

I had two pairs of wedding shoes, and I chose the other pair to wear for the wedding. These shoes are very pretty and I painstakingly placed each rhinestone using a hotstix gun. Filippa Scott shoes are made in London and the shoes are well-crafted and very comfortable. The heel is about a 2-2 1/4 inch height and the size is a 39. The original cost for the pair is a little over $200, starting bid for the auction is $10.

Bridal swarovski hair pin that is in excellent condition. Great for an updo or a loose pulled back hairstyle.

awww, size 8.5?! why couldn’t you be a 6? i looove those red shoes!

2.
JenniferB says:

Mrs. BP- How about that Regina B haircomb…would it be good for finer hair? I have fine hair, but lots of it. How do you think it would work?

3.
starkid says:

why is this post permitted on weddingbee… if it’s trying to sell something as a personal business?

4.
Mrs. Raspberry says:

OMG - I want the Stuart Weitzman’s!!!!

I wear a 9 - do you think I can squeeze?

5.
TACKY! says:

i agree with starkid. this is a way too elaborate post on items for sale. if she wants to sell something, just do a simple link at the bottom of a regular entry. the last thing i want to see on this site is bloggers selling items from their wedding. so tacky!

6.
eve says:

Mrs. BP- Can you tell me what is the length of your bracelet? Thanks!

7.
Mrs. Bee says:

the bees contribute so much to weddingbee (after all they don’t get paid), that i told mrs. bell pepper it was perfectly fine for her to post this. it has been done in the past, and we’d never had any negative feedback.

i’m often sad at the way readers approach criticism, and i’m sorry if you guys feel this way. i was just thinking of helping out the bees.

8.
polly says:

I dont see any issue with it at all! the bees give an awful lot of time to those of us who are addicted to this place!!

I have been looking for brooches so I am headed over to ebay to bid now.

9.
Mrs. Bell Pepper says:

I think the Regina B is fine with any hair type.

Tacky, I don’t think it’s tacky at all, I set the auctions at a low starting bid to hope that whoever wins get a pretty good deal.

I pretty much gave away a lot of stuff to our wedding guests and the museum, including all the candy buffet jars, candlestick holders, the votives and centerpieces including all the vases I bought.

Feel free to express your opinions, but I don’t feel your judgements are valid enough since you don’t know my intentions and know me personally.

10.
Mrs Ant says:

I have to side with Mrs Bee and the bloggers. The bees are all volunteers. VOLUNTEERS.

They put a lot of time and effort into posting ideas that might help other brides. Additionally, they are often subjecting themselves to judgement from the public eye by sharing their wedding. Being able to post items for sale is one of the only perks that a blogger has!

11.
sloe-eyed says:

Would anyone be interested in jointly buying the bracelet? As long as our weddings aren’t on the same day, it should be easy to ship it from bride to bride. I’m in NYC, if that makes it easier. I’m sharing other items with brides from another website, and it’s been working out really well. Email me if interested! jbak88@yahoo.com

Melanie says:

Awwww, it’s kind of sad… All the detailed shopping and considering…. and now on the auction block. I dunno, kind of a bummer.

13.
Mrs. Bell Pepper says:

oh, in case anyone is wondering the bracelet measures out to 6.5 inches. It’s a little large for my wrist but you can get it adjust to several lengths using the loops within the bracelet. if it’s too large you can ask haute bride or any local jeweler to remove some pearls to your wrist size.

Vi says:

I don’t find the post to be tacky or at all in bad taste. The post is what it was intended to be…helpful to not only Mrs. Bell Pepper but also to those in search of obtaining lovely bling for their big day. Unfortunately in weddingbee, as in wedding planning, it is very much impossible to please everyone & ensure all views of what is “proper” is adhered too.

Thank you Mrs. Bell Pepper for sharing your thoughts, your time & your beautiful wedding with us. And I’m sure the lucky ones who receive the jewelry will be grateful for your generosity of such value.

15.
Amy says:

I agree with Vi. What is wrong with Ms. Bell Pepper selling items that she would no longer use to a bride that might not have been able to afford them otherwise?

Ms. Bell Pepper your wedding was beautiful and you have great taste- thanks for sharing.

By the way would you be interested in selling your sash? I have an ivory one but I’m debating on switching to gold.

16.
Miss Strawberry says:

Tacky? Oh jeez. I think of it as a service. She isn’t just selling any old wedding crap like voitives. These are items that I think most brides would be thankful to know about–I’ve looked for Regina B stuff on ebay myself and I think of this as just a friendly PSA.

17.
aoedorothee says:

i agree that it’s very helpful. i know i’ve had a very hard time finding these types of pieces at reasonable prices and i appreciate mrs. bp’s postings and detailed postings. i don’t see it as any different as the other posts where the bees share their resources. this just so happens that her resources are her own jewelry case!

18.
tofu says:

this post is great! makes shopping easier for us. like miss strawberry said, its not random junk like votives or left over ribbon! post away, bees, post away!

19.
Mrs. Bell Pepper says:

I remember before my wedding I spent weeks searching on ebay for the perfect hair pin and bracelet. It was so frustrating to sift through all the auctions that I decided to buy everything from my favorite designers. I traveled pretty far by train to see Regina B so she could make my flower hair pin and earrings. It was nice to have her custom make everything but it was a lot of trouble to go through. The same goes with the the Haute Bride jewelry, which usually takes 1-2 months to make.

20.
Miss Butterscotch says:

I don’t think its tacky at all. I am going to check out the bidding right now! Thanks Mrs BP!

21.
star_rotor says:

Great post! Another reminder that there’s awesome stuff to be found on e-bay and that it’s OK for the rest of us to sell items from our wedding and don’t need to hang on to every single thing.

22.
hm says:

Other readers (including myself) have asked for a Classifieds section, so this is a nice step in that direction!

23.
Joanne says:

this post is definitely not tacky. i was very excited when i saw this and actually bid on an item. i just hope i win! ;)

24.
M&M says:

i actually loved this post. not tacky at all! i always wondered how much those haute bride bracelets are. thank you so much for sharing!

25.
DaintyD says:

I love those earrings. Where did you purchase them from??

26.
Shelby says:

Agreed — not tacky, Tacky. If you don’t want to read it … skip it and go on to the next post!

27.
Lissette says:

I am getting married in one month and 23 days and would love the hair pin. I actually called Regina B. to get a price.

I will definitely be placing a bid on them and hope I win !!!

I didn’t see the earring, where did you get them?

28.
Mrs. Bell Pepper says:

Lisette,

I also got them from Regina B but they are clip-on earrings. I think I’ll keep these because I don’t have a single pair of clip-ons.

29.
Mrs. Plumeria says:

I’m late here, but yeah, I completely support your effort to pass on your beautiful accessories to others… I even see it as a service to readers because of the low bid prices!

This has been done before on Weddingbee and there is nothing wrong with it. I’m sure the girls who ended up purchasing Mrs. Ladybug’s centerpieces and Mrs. Ant’s gorgeous dresses couldn’t be more grateful that they posted them up.

Blogging takes dedication and work, and it’s not always easy to keep up and share openly and publicly about a highly personal event. I think being able to post items like this is a privilege that is well-earned… and whoever ends up with them is sure to be thankful that you did. :)

30.
Monica says:

Hi Mrs. Bell Pepper,

Would you be willing to ship these items to Canada for an extra cost?

31.
Jen says:

i just wanted to say how wonderful my FI is. we have just decided to get each other wedding gifts, and he knew how much i loved you hair pin. so he actually stayed up until end of auction trying to bid for it, without me knowing. it went up like $100 at the last second and he was so upset that he lost.

he’s just so sweet. :-)
