Artcards

August 7th, 2007 @ 12:55 pm by Mrs. Spider

During a recent trip to Ikea, I found myself lingering longingly by their new artcards. At $6 for packets of 5 (including envelopes), I wanted to sweep a whole armful into our (already full) cart. I racked my brain for what I could do with them - Thank You cards? Table numbers? Menus? And then I remembered - I’m married already! Oh how resilient, the wedding planning bug! Well, perhaps they can inspire others.

Damn those last ones would be PERFECT for something in our wedding…not sure what, though, so I will keep myself from hurrying to my nearest IKEA.

Even if your wedding has passed, they’d still go nicely in your home.

We found some cards at Ikea that we liked, but didn’t necessarily have use for, so we got a pack of their black frames, framed the cards, and have cute decor for the stairway leading up to our master bedroom.

I found these a while back, too. My wife and I love to travel, and had great fun naming all the different locatios on the orange, green, and blue watercolor cards.

We picked up a pack, and a few frames at the same time and added them to a wall in our new apartment. Here’s a link to a picture (you might have to cut and paste it to view:

Eric, I love the arrangement of the art cards!

I also thought about buying some for the apartment but my DIY brain convinced me to try and paint some of my own. I’m actually currently working on a set of coffee cups based on Mr. Spider’s and my personality.
