I’d seen so many postings on bridal handbags that I started the search for mine pretty early on, mostly online. I imagined that I would, more than likely purchase a clutch, like this Franchi one, albeit in in ivory.

But I happened to be at the Broward mall last week and remembered that Dillards was one place where I’d once seen a pretty solid selection of special occasion handbags. I’m not sure why, but I don’t really shop there very often, but I figured since I was already there…Turns out they had more than one or two to choose from; almost all were part of the Kate Landry collection.

The first bag I saw and liked was in fact a Kate Landry clutch, but it only came in champagne (like the one pictured above). My dress is closer to ivory, and although I thought the contrast wouldn’t be terribly awful, I kept looking and came across this:

It isn’t what I had imagined, but strangely, it really spoke to me. I think, too, that the style will go well with my dress.

Best part? It only cost $30!

If you’re getting married in the winter or early spring, do note that the Dillards salespeople recommend NOW as the best time to buy a white or ivory handbag and get a deal on it. Since everything that comes in for the months to come is in fall colors (in fact, almost everything else they had came in ruby reds, eggplants, grays, etc.), anything in the white color family is on clearance/sale.
