About Mrs. Jelly Beans

Please Be Seated…

August 8th, 2007 @ 7:17 pm by Mrs. Jelly Beans

As promised here is the product of all our collaborative hard work this week. Thanks to Mr. Jelly Beans staying up all night to put the finishing touches we are finally done.

I purchased placecards from Paper Source in Luxe Blush and printed what seemed like an endless amount of cards with my trusty inkjet printer. Then thanks to everyone’s friend, Martha, much to Mr Jelly Beans dismay, I found the cutest edge punch that we used to embellish the ends for a more vintage spin. And because I am Miss Jelly Beans, crystals were a must! We are using the clear swarovskis to indicate a beef entree and a pink one to indicate a chicken entree.

All in all, this took a few days from start to finish, from the printing, the edging and the glueing. Phew! It was very labor intensive but I am so pleased with the end results. :)

Thank you Mr. Jelly Beans!

Very cute. I like the crystal for the entree - much better than other variations.
Of course now I think I’m headed back to the craft store to look for a different edge punch than the one we picked up this wknd.
That’s what I love most about WeddingBee. You ladies have such inspiring projects!

AN says:

So simple but elegant!!
Would you mind sharing how you glued the crystal onto the card?? It’s not regular glue, is it? I am going to attach a swarovski in the middle of my monogram on my invitations (I think you did that also??)
Thanks!

Can you describe that pink for me? I am trying to find pinks to do my stationery with, but don’t want it to be too ‘bubblegum’.

Living in Canada, it’s sometimes hard to find online stores that ship here, so any help I can get from fellow Canadian brides with regards to where to buy all this stuff is fantastic.

Nathalee says:

How long is that Martha Stewart edge punch? I think it could be perfect for my programs! Is it hard to use (do you have to push down super hard to get through cardstock)?

Lola says:

Sorry–the copyeditor in me is dying. The second c of McCloskey should be capped. That’s the case for all Mc names. IGNORE if you are done. They are beautiful!

Very cute Miss Jelly Beans! I got the same punch the place cards I’m making for my sister’s wedding! Gotta love Martha Stewart at Michaels!

Very pretty! I had fantasized about doing Swarovski crystal accents on my placecards, but in crunch time, that was the first thing to go :)

kp says:

very pretty!!! i love love the edges! - it makes quite a difference. and i think it was a beautiful choice for the font!

can i ask a question? were the placecards printer-friendly? - as in, do they come in one whole sheet or do you have to feed each individual placecard into the printer? thanks in advance for your help!! :D

Thanks for the kind words! Mr Jelly Beans is grinning ear to ear! :)

AN- I purchased a 2 way glue from Wal-Mart. I used tweezers to place the gems. And just left them to dry overnight. So far none of them have fallen yet, and I have used them everywhere.

Melissa- the pink is a every light pink with a peach undertone. They call it blush. Definitely not bubblegum pink. Papersource has this sample booklet you can purchase with all their colors and you can request free samples as well. I highly recommend Papersource, they ship to Canada and if you spend over $100 shipping is free. :)

Nathalee- The edge punch is about 6 inches in length. Super easy to use on paper, but requires some more effort with cardstock. I recommend doing it on a stable surface. I just keep sharpening mine with foil.

Lola- thanks for the heads up! I am done but that one will be changed pronto… :)

ML- I purchased the punch from the Martha Stewart section at Michael’s.

Meeleven- it was party all right… but after several hours we were both party poopers! :)

Nicole- we have about 200 people attending… my hands hate me after all my projects. hahah

Miss Jelly Beans says:

KP- the placecards come precut and prescored. I fed them in the printer individually. Time consuming but very printer friendly once you get the template down.

Thanks Miss Violet! I love ya for noticing the table. I found it a Salvation store and looooved the low Japanese aesthetics of it. So it took me months to restore and give it a dark browm finish. So thanks! :)

Caroline- I used Bickham Script Fancy and Beautiful ES for the fonts. Some of the Bickham fonts are hard to read or too “floofy” so I would use ES for some of the letters.

lily says:

They are beautiful! What kind of printer do you use?

31.
Miss Jelly Beans says:

Hi Lily- I used my HP inkjet printer… pretty easy and straight forward to use. Let me know if you have any other questions. :)

32.
Nichole says:

I’m totally stupid when it comes to setting up templates, etc on any program. I ordered the same size of place cards but i was wondering what program did you use to set up the template? Also do you still have it? I just can’t figure out how to get it the same size as the place cards. I would really really appreciate it! Thanks, they turned out great.
