About Mrs. Licorice

Wow, I’m An Idiot

August 9th, 2007 @ 10:28 am by Mrs. Licorice

If you ever needed a reason not to do DIY projects in the wee hours of the morn’: I spelled my name wrong. I spelled my first name wrong.

The envelope reads “M I C H C L L E.” I didn’t catch this until the next day after I had already printed 50 envelopes. Teehee. This is only for the thank you notes. At least I remembered to proofread the invitations. It’s just as well, though, because I learned a superfly trick involving type on Adobe Illustrator. More on that later!

Hmm it KINDA looks like an E if you just glance at it quickly. But it should be fairly easy to fix, right?

Yea, it def looks like an E - the brain plays good tricks when you think you know what you’re looking at. I doubt people will even notice….took me a while to see it myself.

I think it’s not that noticeable, since the ‘c’ looks like an ‘e.’ It probably is even less noticeable when it isn’t zoomed in so close too! :)

A tiny bit of green ink might turn the c into an e?

I love Illustrator, can’t wait to hear your tips and tricks! I love your shade of green, michclle. ;-) I agree, it’s hard to see unless you know what to look for. But I would fix it just so I could sleep at night.

I wouldn’t even do anything to them - at least you made a mistake that isn’t REALLY noticeable.

Awww. I’m sorry, well, it does look like an “E.” That happened to a friend of mine, and she was printing on $$$ Kate Spade envelopes. Oy, it was bad.

I didn’t notice it either - I think it does look like an e — You can just pretend that’s the style of the font :-p

no worries, the brain usually tricks us into seeing things if we read a word we know really well. i doubt other people won’t notice unless they’re inspecting the envelope like thisclose. :-)

i’m anxiously awaiting your trick on illustrator. please do share!
