Wedding Day: Part 4

August 10th, 2007 @ 4:33 pm by Mrs. Tomato

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

…it was 15 minutes before the bride (me) was due to walk down the aisle. Let’s take a sneak peek at the setup around us, shall we?

The programs:

The favors:

The guestbook table:

5:50
-Pastor, wedding party and Father of Bride line up for processional
- Pianist begins playing prelude (remind pianist to bring weights for sheet music, in case it’s windy)

6:00
- OFFICIANT announces ceremony START; pianist begins playing processional

PROCESSIONAL ORDER:

Pastor
Groomsmen, Best Man
Groom
Bridesmaids, Maid of Honor
Bride escorted by Father

Okay, the music is starting! Quick, in your seats, the groomsmen are coming…

JenJason-994

Every bride’s moment–walking down the aisle. For some reason, the butterflies I had anticipated were nonexistent. I was just filled with an incredible sense of joy.

Though there are sadly no pictures of this (but we will have a video–good thing we hired a videographer!), Mr. Tomato sang “Beautiful in My Eyes” by Joshua Kadison as my dad and I were slowly making our way towards him. We had refrained from telling our guests so it would be a “surprise.” His mom later told us that she was wondering why he looked so pained moments before the music started. To her relief, it wasn’t because Mr.Tomato had second thoughts–it was because he had to sing in front of a large audience!

I love the vivid colors of these photographs.

And now I pronounce you…

JenJason-1133

husband and wife! Now you may kiss the bride!

JenJason-1143

Another kiss at the end of the aisle:

6:40
Ceremony ENDS; wedding party exits down walkway past bridal room
OFFICIANT makes announcement for family members to stay on terrace for photos
Hor d’ouevres start in Cedar Room

I thought this was an interesting shot of me through the window as I’m making my way to the cocktail area:

JenJason-1215

6:45
FAMILY photos in courtyard (Both families, then Bride’s family, followed by Groom’s family)
FLORIST moves altar arrangements to dining room; break down garland and use as Bride & Groom chair decor

7:00
MC makes announcement for guests to move into dining room for the reception
Bridesmaids and Groomsmen help usher guests into dining room
Usher gets music ready for wedding party introductions
GIFT HELPER puts cards/envelopes in safe place with her

Almost time for the reception (and good food) to start!…

to be continued!

Lady, can I just say THANK YOU for putting together such a detailed and fun timeline? My wedding is in 50 days, and as we start getting into the details of the timeline it feels very overwhelming. I really love getting this great look into the nitty-gritty of how your day came together - and the funny captions and photos make it come alive. I appreciate all your hard work to share your day with us!

Hi, Miss T,

I second the THANKS for doing this timeline! Sooo helpful! I’m wondering on your processional–did you have the parents come down the aisle/who escorted them?

Those photos are so beautiful. Also did you get the formal family portraits done in 15 minutes? If so that is impressive!

Hi star_rotor, yes I did get family portraits done in about 15 minutes! We didn’t do too many–basically there was one with my family, another with Mr.Tomato’s family, and then our families combined. Our photographers were great and worked fast so we could enjoy mingling with our guests!

Hi… I’m planning on getting married in Napa as well and I was wondering who your officiant was? Great pics and thanks for all the details!

Could you also please send me a template of your favor labels? I’m also doing some DIY as well (at least try to make an attempt to).

Thanks!
